I can understand myki starting ahead of Ozil but for the life of me i don't understand iwobi starting over lacca. Nobody will ever convince me iwobi is a better option up front than lacca, who works hard and can actually score, unlike iwobi. The kid is a sub at best, never ever good enough to start.

Agree0 Disagree0

It's a strange one Steve, you have to assume Lacasette is still not 100% fit because he is having an excellent season in my opinion.

He offers so little, so can only assume he performs like Messi in training.

I was kind of hoping we were done with players like Ramsey, Walcott, Wilshere etc who promised a lot but delivered very little.

It did look like Iwobi might flourish initially under Dick but he's gone quite again, still we've seen more from him the past few months then in however many years previously,

Poor old lacca got a bum deal with wenger and he seems second choice again with Dick. I like the lad a lot, we need him and auba on the pitch. He works hard at pressing and closing down too for a striker, i'm baffled why he gets a bum deal.

18 Dec 2018 21:54:33
Is he fully fit though?

18 Dec 2018 22:11:55
He is fit enough to play in europa league and at the start of the season, he was on the bench a lot. He doesn't seem to be first choice.

18 Dec 2018 21:28:58
It's clear from our 1st vs 2nd half performances, when Laca comes on we are much better.

18 Dec 2018 22:40:44
Or should i say he seems to be the one to make way.

18 Dec 2018 22:57:11
If he's fit he should definitely be playing personally I think he's every bit as good as Pea this season and that's meant as a compliment to Lacasette not a slight on Pea, obviously I'd play both.

I am certain that Emery is fully aware that we have too many midfield options that fail to offer enough defensively; Iwobi, Mkhitaryan, Ramsey and Ozil. Over the next couple of windows Ramsey is departing and I can see at least one of the other players I mentioned going and at leat two replacements arriving.
Since Welbeck's injury we only have two serious options for the main striking role and perhaps that is why Emery is not starting Aubameyang and Lacazette together. It leaves no quality option if either player is injured, suspended or has an off day.
I am concerned that reports are emerging that Emery believes we may not make any signings during the forthcoming window. With Holding and Welbeck out for the season and Ramsey out of favour as his contract runs down, I believe we need a couple of signings, a pair of all-round midfield players. Defensively we have Koscielny back to compensate for losing Holding to injury and we should have Mavropanos back next month. That gives us 4 options at CB, which is okay if we play 2 CB's. However, if we play 3 at the back, we will need at least one more CB.

I'm sure Dick wants to sign players but accepts January isn't the easiest time to do that and he'd rather wait until next summer to get players he wants rather than just sign players he can get to cover a 5 month period then become surplus to his plans.
I'm sure the club will do what they can in January without simply signing for the sake of it.

{Ed002's Note - His hand may be forced if the right players are available.}

Im sure if a player we want is getable in jan, we will get, if we need him.

19 Dec 2018 19:29:11
I’d rather miki than Ozil personally, at least he tracks back and puts a foot in, Ozil is stealing a living at arsenal.

Thank you Ed002.
