Not to bang on about city money but pep said that city’s success is not all down to money. To answer the question you have to ask yourself, would city have won anything, been top 4 or even been prem regulars without it and you would have to say no to all three. It is what it is and no point banging on about it but I’m sure pep is wife of the mark.

Agree0 Disagree0

Would city be in a position to attract Pep without the money? No because they would be similar to Everton at best ( no disrespect to Everton) but Pep wouldn't have been interested in joining them from Bayern.
What I will say is money alone isn't enough or United would be neck and neck with City now and Chelsea then City would have been totally dominant since their billionaire owners first took over instead of champions frequently but also non runners quite often.
Money obviously helps a lot but it isn't a guarantee and niether does not being mega rich and a total no goe if you spend a little extremely well.

It makes you wonder why some managers have say such rediculously stupid things sometimes, when they are supposed to be clever.

Like I say don’t want it to sound like sour grapes but it’s black and white.

Does buying 4m lottery tickets impact your odds of winning the lottery. no guarantee but you would have to have your head up your arse to think it doesn’t, also an idiot to think a person with a single ticket can’t win.

Pep - why don’t you take over Palace and try to win the league on this budget. get you head out your arse as you sound like a clown. Lots of people respect you for the football you play, probably respect you more if you were honest.

What makes it so much tougher for a side with lower budget is holding onto their players not just the being not being able to buy big in the first place.
If say Bournemouth or Watford were to finish 3rd this season (just for arguments sake) over next summer the big clubs would take thier best players leaving them back at square one.

Spot on - it’s a double edged sword. City benefit and make it harder for everyone else. Cheksea used to be able to buy players just to stop other teams buying them and loan them out to play against competitors but not them. they also help boost prices which made it harder to buy and make budgets go further.

You got me started now! I hate the false money in football from sugar daddies who falsely prop up teams. I have no real issue with Utd as their global brand, sponsorship etc brought their money in.

Zero respect from me to Chelsea and City for winning the league as I could win it with £1bn budget. it’s not sour grapes it’s just my principals which I know can be wrong and divisive. I also understand it’s ( opinion ) probably wrong due to FFP.

Rant over and I will put the toys back in the pram.
