Typical - guardian reports on a few talking points from the weekend

1. An improving Palace and energetic Zaha
2. Disappearing Ozil

Surely the blatant dive should be highlighted if we are to stamp out cheats. Palace deserved a point but Zaha deserved a red as did the other diver. If we want to rid football of divers - highlight it and do something about it.

Agree0 Disagree0

SY I'm against diving too mate but Xhaka bought Zaha bait and caught him so it wasn't a complete dive as such mate.
Xhaka admitted it was a penalty himself.
Just out of interest how do you stand on forwards deliberately handling the ball into a team mates path to score? :-)
Swings and roundabouts 100% yesterday all day long mate, no complaints from me, both teams had players who conned the ref and if we can't take it we shouldn't give it out in my opinion.

Whether theatrical or not, it was a stonewall penalty, a very slight touch but contact was made and zaha made sure. The tackle should not have been attempted, naive.

Ref watch made me laugh, it says PEA goal should not of counted as lacazette handball, yet nothing about the defender pulling lacazette’s shirt which caused him to raise his arms as it should of been a pen then.

You are right - seen it again. Zaha still falls to easy but a stupid block caused us the 3 points.

Sy, i said a few weeks ago, if someone makes contact in the box, why should the recipient try to do anything other than go down. Zaha knew what was coming and he took his chance as soon as he felt the touch. What would he have to gain by trying to avoid it?

To be fair to Xhaka Zaha is a tough oppenent for an established fullback to deal with let alone a makeshift one, let him run without tackling and he scores tackle and he goes down.
I don't blame Xhaka the ref or Zaha a draw was a fair result and we didn't earn or deserve more or less than that on the day.
To be fair we've had some rub of the green decisions like Holdings handball v Leicester and I'm sure we will get some go against us too but over the season refs don't decide the top 4 players managers teams do that for themselves.
We have to learn we can't win them all and sometimes our players are less than honest just like other teams players are too.
Things are going well so let's enjoy them and accept the set backs with good grace, they have to come for every team and Liverpool Chelsea and City will all lose at some stage it's how you handle the set backs that mattes.
