Fantastic start by Liverpool in fact it's impossible for them to have done better, big questions are about to be asked of them from Chelsea twice Napoli and of course City too.
Get through that little lot unscathed and suddenly they will replace City as the team for everyone to beat.
People talk about how Klopp hasn't won anything but would a league cup or fa cup winners medal really make what he's done at Liverpool anymore impressive?
For me it's 10 out 10 for Jurgen from his first 3 years at Liverpool and just to top it all he's also a first class bloke too.

Agree0 Disagree1

Got to win a trophy, no trophy, no good. Ultimately that's what makes the job a success, no trophy and questions will always be asked and the tennure soon forgotten. The museum won't survive on results, it has to have a bit of silverware.

I think Wigan would swap there fantastic fa cup achievement for a bit of what Jurgen is giving Liverpool now Steve mate, I know I would swap our 3 fa cup wins in 4 seasons for the 3 seasons Jurgens already given plus what's possibly yet to come.
If cups were the answer we wouldn't have just had a change management mate.

Klopp has to win a trophy as well as challenging, just challenging won't be good enough for too long. It his time now and he will only be remembered for how many trophies he wins. He has to do both to keep his job.

With all due respect gunner wigan are not Liverpool and if a top team doesn't only challenge and win trophies, the manager comes under pressure from both the press and the fan base if not. We won trophies and ultimately didn't challenge, wengers gone. Poch doing a sterling job at toots, the first season he finishes outside the top four and doesn't win a trophy, it will be night night.

Excellent start by Liverpool, but it's early days and Klopp's legacy will be decided by trophies in the cabinet or a lack of them, particularly having spent heavily during his time at the club.

Steven I agree with your Pochettino comment and this season it will be extremely difficult to secure a top four spot, with expectations rising at the Toot. I can't see them winning the CL and securing a top four spot will be tricky this season, with Man C, LIverpool and Chelsea all looking strong. At this early stage fourth spot looks a fight between us, Man U and Toot. Having failed to sign any players during the last window and with a heavy schedule I can't see Toot prioritising the domestic cups, With a change of home venue happenning at some time this season, players unsettled due to lower wages than those paid at other top four contenders, I can envisiage them finishing outside the top four and at the end of the season he will have been at the club 5 seasons, and fans can be fickle.

I wonder if you oford Newcastle fans 3 more seasons under what Keegan gave them but no trophies or 3 seasons under Rafa Pardew or Sharear but with a league cup win thrown in the middle somewhere which they'd take?
Or
US Arsenal fans the last 4 seasons and 3 fa cups under Arsene part two or 4 seasons of watching Arsene part one with Bergkamp Henry Viera and co but runners up only in league and cups and no trophies which we'd take?
Football is an entertainment business and we don't all look back at the trophy and how it glemeed that day it was handed over we look back at the fantastic way we were entertained with fabulous sexy football played with style by truly fantastic players none of us will ever forget.

G62 - We must consider ourselves fortunate to have had an awesome first decade under Wenger, with a fabulous team to watch, pus trophies. The second decade was harder, blue we still won 3 FA Cups, 3 Community Shields, plays qualification for CL in all, bar the final 2 seasons. Compare that to LIverpool and the toot who barely win a thing between them over the last decade. The difficult during the second half of Wenger's reign was having to ay for the new stadium, whilst financially doped clubs such as Man C and Chelsea came into the equation. Our main competitors in the fist decade was really only Man U.

When i'm sat in my rocking chair drinking my horlicks, i often look back and reminisce about the trophies i won at football and now golf. I never think about the ones i missed out on, there's nothing like picking up a trophy.

It's strange because I've no idea where my medals are now days but I still think about the games sometimes, not just winning ones but ones I enjoyed or funny bits that happend during games.
There are no medals for fans at the end of a season only monuments and memories and I'm sure the Newcastle fans remember the non winning times under keegan more fondly than United fans do Jose Europa and league cup winning season.
38 games of entertainment v a season of frustration and dispoiontment with only a winning cup run 5 games to brighten up the dismal season that was endured by all.

Gunner the reason Newcastle fans might do that is because they don't do winning trophies, they aren't a Liverpool or an Arsenal. Liverpool will expect trophies, Newcastle can only dream.
