Apparently Ramseys contract talks are going knowwhere. Really, that's quite obvious, he isn't in any rush. Looks like whatever happens we are going to have the ramsey sideshow all winter like sanchez and ozil. How good did they turn out?

Agree0 Disagree0

Don't worry about it mate, that's a problem inherited from the past and there is nothing anyone can do to change the past, we have far bigger fish to fry than Aaron Ramsey and he's all about Arsenal past not Arsenal future.

Thats how they repay the loyalty given from arsenal, it shows you there is no loyalty in football these days. And I’m not really bothered if he goes if his acting this way.

{Ed002's Note - But you are OK signing players who have failed to agree new contracts?}

Kos and Harry Kane, two players who delivered or deliver week in week out for thier clubs and both have had chances to move to clubs where they can earn much more money and many more medals but felt affinity with their clubs so stayed without the need to hold the club to ransom.
Then you have the Theo and Aaron's who never quite deliver on anything like a regular basis but are happy to do what's they feel is good for them and if that includes holding the club to ransom, no problem at all.
Let Aaron go and bring in someone who plays for the shirt as well as himself rather than simply himself first everytime.

To be honest Ramsey has probably not, since that great half season, been played regularly in his best position.

He is not on Mega money and clearly not happy with the offer on the table and likely his playing time in his favoured position.

He is at a point when the next decision is a big one for him and I don’t mind him weighing up his options as much as I don’t mind him leaving.

To be fair I've no idea what he's been offered to stay and I've never met the bloke so don't really have any idea of what he's like as a person but on the pitch he gives me the impression he rates his own ability extremely highly by all the fancy flicks and shots he trys out that when one comes off they are a thing of beauty but more often than not they are a wasted opportunity for the team.
Rightly or wrongly I have the impression Aaron plays for Aaron rather than the team.

We should have made Ramsey available really for sale and have done with it although there were not many queueing up for him Tbh. We could have eaisly got Nzonzi by selling Rasmsey then and made the sqaud more balanced as he was waiting on us making a move but missed the boat on him now.

Ramsey needs a bit of reality check if he thinks any other top club is going to be desperate to sign him on high wages, he would be a 2nd / 3rd choice target I would say for other top teams. I think he knows he had a easy time of it under Wenger now he has to prove his worth and does not like it.

Havibf to prove himself could be the making of him I guess Ryan, It's funny but when Aaron was the Arsenal fans pet hate i always felt sorry for him because I felt he was far better than people gave him credit for, then that season came and everything changed but not everything for the better unfortunately.

Ed02 I was talking about all players these days, not just arsenal players, I personally don’t think Ramsey worth a big contract. Same for Ozil. And when a team sticks by thier player in bad situations you would expect players to repay thier teams.

{Ed002's Note - It is the nature of the beast nowadays Moe. If Arsenal cannot come to an agreement with Ramsey the others will be keen to talk. As for Oezil, I cannot agree more about the amounts involved.}

I wonder how long before the football financial bubble will burst! Maybe 20 years or more but I'm sure they will one day cook the goose that lays the golden eggs.

20 Aug 2018 17:00:35
I don't think it will last 20 years gunner, my view is maybe 3 to 5. Its definitely not sustainable.

It's impossible to say how long really Steve but Sanchez on half a million a week Mesut on 1 million plus a month that money has to ultimately come from Joe public Wether it's via advertising sponsorship or TV money everything is ultimately consumer driven and funded.
No sign of it peaking yet but it obviously will one day and once it does the only way is downhill and probably a return to some kind of sanity.

The only way wages will become more sensible again if if Fans go on long boycott and don't turn up for games as broadcasters will then not throw so much money at a sport product that has next to zero atmos. and move onto something else. Will that happen doubt it but we have the power as fans as guuner62 said it is consumer driven.
