Big Sam has a point

Allardyce claims that the blame lies solely with the manager, who he believes sent his team out with the wrong message.

I don't like Sam but seems to have a point here.

Agree0 Disagree1

Sy, you are having a bad day, listening to the ramblings of big sam. How many europa trophies and big teams has he won and been entrusted with the big sam tippy wollop.

The new manager sent the team out with a new plan and it's obviously a plan he thinks is right for us to try.
Can our players carry out his plan?
Which players can?
Which players can't?
How will Dick find out?
Oh by I know trial and era, it's the only way to find out and by October he will have a better idea because of first hand experience.
Big Sam knows only one way and wastes millions finding out players who can't handle his way.

Hate how people especially the media are being so negative. One of Unai's strong abilities is apparently his analysis of games and players and with this analysis developing the individual and the team. How can he analyse and develop nothing, we had played no games until Sunday (not counting friendlies which are for fitness) .
You have to give the guy a chance a see how he reacts not just to loses but winning streaks (which can breed complacency) draws (can be even more demotivating than loses, especially if goals are conceded late) .
The next season is going to be turbulent but it is how Unai and the team use this season that he should be judged on.

{Ed002's Note - I remain somewhat off being 100% convinced and remember he was nowhere near first choice.}

True 62 but he also had numerous preseason games and training to work on defence etc.

Playing out from the back against City was a big mistake.

Formation looked a bit messed up and the one thing we were good st before attack . looked disjointed.

If you play from keeper - surely midfield needs to show to get ball from midfield.

Surely a tactician would have seen that as well as the way City attacked down the wings with no challenges

Knowing City's mobility - why start. Xhaka rather than Torriera

Where was Rambo playing

When was he going to address Walker raping our fullback.

What are you saying Ed - in your opinion?

{Ed002's Note - No, for the club.}

13 Aug 2018 23:09:54
The big plus of the citeh game was, Dick learnt everything he needed to know about xhaka and bellerin. Especially xhaka going missing and hiding.

I'm with you 100% Ben, this season is and has to be about putting our house in order.
Next season quite rightly will be different we will all want to see us compete with City or anyone else much better than we did yesterday but if Pep needed a year to adjust to the premier league and get City to play his way I think Dick is entitled to the same time frame at thd very least.

I would be more inclined to blame the players for the performances. The most experienced players didn't turn up and if that happens, you don't stand a chance. The players at least have to buy into working, they are still in the lapsy daisical mode they were in under wenger. Too many down tools when the going gets tough.

No preseason friendlies can replicate a real game SY mate, if Dicks job depended on yesterday then he's at the wrong club and he'd be better off at Leeds where managers get at least a fortnight to prove themselves.

Let’s hope the trial doesn’t last an era g62 😂.

Good point Sanogo :-)
It begs the question, why exactly didn't people vote for me to run the country in the last electrician.

14 Aug 2018 09:20:54
I’m sure you have enough spark for the job g62 😂.

You could actually see that wenger way of passing was still there especially in the first half, in the second half they were a bit more direct once Ramsey was replaced and even more when Xhaka was taken out.
There is more pressure in Competitive games than friendlies as we all know,
We weren’t that bad really on sunday, the team didn’t look scared as the era before and I can only see improvement from Emery on the team.
Altho I liked the fact in Emery post match interview said we had issue needed to be addressed instead of blaming the ref of not awarding the penalty.

I think I run on an ever so slightly different voltage to most people, if there is super fast electricity I'm it's very distant cousin, the one the family don't like to talk about to much :-)
But hey ho I'm happy in my own little world :-)
