Very strange, letting chambers go out on loan, you would think holding needed that more. Also does that mean we are bringing another defender in with injuries already depleating us.

Agree1 Disagree0

Agreed = can’t work this one out at all

May be the next few days will complete the picture 🤞.

be Shocked if anyone else was brought in unless Mustafi is sold which is looking increasingly less likely to happen this window.

Chambers going is the first thing Dicks done that has really made me question his judgement.
Iwobi and Xhaka getting new deals made me raise an eyebrow or 3 but the Chambers decision is a very strange one.

Are the vida rumours true?

Yeah strange move as you would think Chambers being the most experienced after Mustafi and Sokratis (disregarding long term injured Kos for now) would be first reserve to come in. Either Emery rates Mavropanos and Holding higher than him in which case chambers signing a deal was just to protect his sale value and will be gone next window. Or perhaps Emery just wants another more experienced CB (one with pace hopefully) to come in just for this season as a incoming loan until Kos is back as cover for Mustafi and Sokratis (Unknown as to how Kos will be after this injury either as he certainly coming to and end) ? . We certainly can’t afford another signing now without more sales so a Loan could make sense, . I think time is too short to allow get a buyer for Mustafi and to then find a replacement.

Chambers, Kroenke take over and Gazidis - 3 strange Decisions assuming G leaves

Everything comes in 3s.

Where are the Vida rumours coming from?
The clue to their accuracy is in the source that provides them.
Slightly more chance of Nessi appearing on the one show tomorrow night:-)

I failed to understand why we kept Chambers at the club and extended his deal, as I considered him to be ordinary and clearly the weakest of our CB options. Extending his contract and then letting him depart on loan makes no sense whatsover as I cannot envisage him returning next season improved sufficiently to be a serious option ant CB. Either we have a player lined up or Emery realised having worked with him for a few weeks that he is the weakest of our 5 fit CB's. Perhpas with approximately 5 months until. Koscileny return from injury Emery is happy with the 4 remaining CB's.

Chambers needs games to help his development - I think Holding could also do with a loan if truth be told. We aren't in a position where we can rely on an inexperienced 23yr old centre back. We need solid, mature players at the back to help the rest of the team. I like both Chambers and Holding, but this does make sense if he is to become a long term centre back for Arsenal. A season of top flight, Premiership football in a team that will be under the pump for a lot of their games. We will see how good he is, and also he will learn loads. Good luck to him.
