Me too mate, they gave all THEY had to give, maybe others had and have more but you can't give more than YOUR all.
Germany in 2010 took a young team and lost in the semi final then 2014 that same team became champions, it's all positive even if disappointing.

Yes, regardless they got to the semis of a world cup. But no cigar.

You sound almost pleased Steve?
You need to take a look at yourself Geeza.

Its called realism gunner, i have no need to look at myself.

Last season I said Arsenal would finish 5th to 7th Steve and that turned out to be realistic but had we finished 2nd 3ptd behind City then I would have been wrong plain and simple.
This summer I thought England would be last 16 also rans before the competition stated but that turned out to be totally wrong because they were 45 minutes from the world cup final it's self.
I prefer realism to pretend rose tinted optimism based on nothing but wishful thinking but sometimes we all get it wrong mate and 3 weeks ago me you and many others underestimated this England team and this England manager and trying to deny that did the courty proud by getting within 45 minutes of the final isn't realistic it's simply stubbornly refusing to be wrong.

You two having a tiff 😀 that’s my boy g62 your fully back on team optimism and ready to slay the pessimistic dark lord steve 😂.

Gunnee, i have never under estimated or over estimated this england team. They got to the semi finals, which in the books looks great. They haven't really pulled any trees up with their performances. The hype over them has been rediculous. They won't ever have an easier route to win the thing than this year. I just don't get embroiled in the hype, that we played fantastic and have moved forward in our performances. I thought the whole time the papers and media have over hyped what really went on.

Sorry sausage fingers, gunner.

Steve I don't care about the papers mate i just go with my own eyes ears and mind, the manager isn't the best but did his best, the players aren't the bast but did their best and the public responded to both and got behind them because they accepted they weren't the best or most talented but rejected they were giving it their best.
Personally I don't know what more people can do than that and I don't need sky or any news paper to make respect anyone who gives 100%.

12 Jul 2018 20:00:10
Agree gunner, i think they all gave 100% and great to them but as far as performance goes, it was pretty average. But like we all say the hisory book will show they got to the semi final. I like what southgate did, got rid of the old guard but the new guard are lacking for me but they are young.

They are young mate and who knows where they will all be in 2 years let alone 4 years time
Danny Sturridge had a great 2014 with Liverpool and went into Brazil 2014 as the main man up front who would have thought 4 years on he would be out on a limb loaned out and struggling with WBA.
Some of this 23 man squad will fade away some others will let it go to their heads and think they are kings but hopefully some will kick on and along with some of the England world and European champions at under 17 19 and 20 make it to euro 2020 and Qatar 2022 with their feet still on the ground and maybe just maybe go one better than the class of 2018 and make the final it self.
We are in much better shape than when we left Brazil and France and once more the public are on their side and that alone is something I didn't expect from Russia 2018 for us and has to be a huge plus for the players and manager.
