Lots of discussions regarding Mustafi and Xhaka, and whether Emery can get any more form them. One player seemingly skating under the radar with regards to this is Kolasinac. I loved him the first few games, but admittedly he faltered slightly as the season developed. Was this confidence? Form? Formation? Who knows. I am however very excited to see how he performs under Emery and really hoping he becomes the beast he was in the Bundesliga. With our other (potential as yet) defensive recruits, a fit and firing Kolasinac could be fantastic.

It's a hard one with him because he was ideally a wing back which isn't going to be a feature much this season if Emery does stick with the 4 at the back. I really want to see him do well and he certainly has the potential to do so! Some training and encouragement with a new coach and I think he will be more than comfortable back there. We can't rely on Monreal all season with Emery's high intense pressing.

Wasn't he German player of the season before we signed him? I may have dreamt that :-)
Sanchez is the only Arsene signing of the last 5 seasons who has done well and increased his reputation at Arsenal
Chambers Welbeck Ozil Xhaka Mustafi all arrived in better shape than they are now so on that basis all should be given a season under a new coach and the benefit of the doubt I guess.
Oh I guess you could add Elneny and Holding to Sanchez as having their reputation improved under Arsene at a push simply because none of us had ever heard of them before and have now.

He was in the Bundesliga team of the season yes, as a wing back :) he played well for us as a wing back but was sloppy at LB.

Kolasinac was playing superbly in Germany and started well when he joined us. As with many new signings in recent seasons they start well and then appear to go backwards. Under Emery I have a feeling he will improve considerably on last seasons performances, especially with an improved emphasis on the defensive side of the game and with a greater intensity on pressing the opposition.

Kolasinac has gone from playing wing back for 2 weeks to having 2 weeks on the bench. Then coming back in the squad as a full back and then the next week he's playing on the right side of the back 3. It's hardly surprising he's been frustrated and we've seen a dip in his performances. Playing people out of position and inconsistently should hopefully of come to an end now so I think we will see a lot of improvements throughout the squad :)

Play your best 11 in their correct positions each and every game if you want to be the best you can be.
Rotation is for the cosy people the best players don't fear competion, they don't even think about it they just let their performances do the talking for them.
