Griesmann to Barca, lacca to A Madrid? If reports Emery doesn't want him and fancies a dfferent striker, could easily be a possibility.

Agree0 Disagree0

That would leave us short of quality if PEA gets injured or rested.

A left winger who chips in with 10 goals but actually can cross and take players on while offering width rather than cutting in would be welcomed but I would like to keep Lacca.

Did Lacasette really join Arsenal to be cover at his age? I was happy with singing Lacasette but then along came Pea and it's a no contest between the two who is number 1 chioce.
Good players in their prime are seldom happy to be cover.

Sy, the rumour if true is we sell lacca and get a player Emery wants in his place, maybe a different type to lacca, i don't know.

Wether we rate him or not, we still have Welbeck as cover (if he isn't sold) and the young lad eddie, who is an emerging talent. Welbeck is no mug, he is one short of beckham in england goalscoring and is only still young. His problem has been fitness.

Ramsey won't sign to not play, Miki won't have swapped Uniteds bench for ours Ozil might sit back and take the cash but that's a lot of cash for a bench warmer, Pea is undropropable, those four give you a problem and Lacasette makes the problem more difficult still, sign the youngster from PSG and it's looking like a traffic jam of attacking players who can only be accommodated at the cost to the defensive pert of the team.
Plus where does young Eddie get any game time in any cups with all that quality ahead of him?
Of course you need cover but like for like insurance comes at a very high price in football, top players who don't play want extortionate wages to stick around as compensation for not playing and wasting their career.

If Emery likes width - Welbeck cannot play on the left.

Emery adjusts more for the oppositions so may be we will see more rotation in players based on where we play and against whom.

4 - 2 - 1 - 3

Rambo as part of the 2 in the middle with Ozil in the whole behind an attack minded front 3. If happy without wingers then PEA - Lacca and Miki. This doesn’t give us the full width we could have but gives us two good goal scorers in Lacca and PEA. In today’s league we also need goal scorers on the pitch. Rambo is great a that.

Can’t watch t to see how we will line up and play.

Ramsey really worries me as part of a midfield two SY mate, he's a headline grabber of a player who loves being involved in goals and the more spectacular the better.
He doesn't appear to enjoy the defensive grafting side of the game which would leave any DM with a lot of work to do on his own.
I've seen a log of people suggest line up and formation mate but to me it's back to square one of just getting the most exciting players all on the pitch at the same time at the cost of ballance and all round team efficency.
Neither Lacasette or Pea are at there best out wide although they can and have played there.
Personally I think its to much presentation and not enough substance to ever make us mastercheff champions :-)

10 Jun 2018 18:52:26
Agreed - clean sheet can’t get beat but 3 points are required more times than not.

So - Rambo isn’t really creative enough to replace Ozil but scores more goals. Rambo isn’t our Rock either. So we must sell one of them and replace effectively

Our squad doesn’t match how Emery wants to play - in my opinion and some big decisions to make.

Issue is there are players beneath these two that need replacing and we can’t change everything at one go. May be we bite the bullet and do wholesale changes now and write off next season in the league and hope we get it together for a EL victory.

Personally I'd go 4 3 3 next season with a DM and two attacking midfielder players who aren't afraid of hard graft either, plus a front 3 of Mesut Miki and Pea simply because Lacasette and Ramsey have resale value we need, get that midfield sorted with Xhaka Elney Niles as back up plus Eddie and Danny as up top cover. The defence already looks under reconstruction which I'm delighted about.
75 points plus isn't unthinkable if we make ourselves tough to beat and the front 3 perform regularly as a unit.
We've tried rotating and trying to please everyone with little success while recent champions seem to have used least players per season.

I quite like Southgates formation of 3142 as a way to fit the most of our attacking players in laca and auba up top and two of Ramsey / ozil/ mkhi behind.

10 Jun 2018 21:21:01
That would take some DM to cover the defensive duties of Ozil/ Ramsey or Miki Eden mate, I'm not at all sure about this trying to outscore the opponents in high scoring games philosophy, I prefer to control games more than have a multi coloured shot swop.

11 Jun 2018 04:57:55
But you would also have 3 cbs and 2 wing backs. But I don't think emery likes 3 at the back so it's probably a non starter, but it was just a way of fitting laca and auba together which I really want to see! You could have two dms and just one of ozil/ miki/ Ramsey.

11 Jun 2018 08:37:10
2 Dms and your talking Eden, 3 4 3 with Lacasette and Pea and Ozil or Ramsey pulling the strings behind them would work in my opinion.
Personally I think we need to start thinking about the team more and individuals less, get a preferred formation and have players who fit in that formation rather than find a formation to fit in our favourite players.
No disrespect to Arsene but he definitely had his favourites and we ended up with Ramsey playing wide right just to accommodate getting Arsenes favourite 11 on the pitch at the same time and went a decade without bothering the champions one bit.
The best teams don't always have the best 11 players but are usually well organised displined amd have a system that makes it very difficult to beat them first and foremost, that doesn't have to mean boring negative Jose football, the invincibles are a brilliant example of sexy going forward but equally stubborn at the back.
