What we need my friends first and foremost
is a new manager and then let him assess the squad and then let the comings and goi gs begin. The whole Sunday debacle proved once again that he has seriously lost it. The line up on Sunday showed no respect for Forest, The Competition and lastly and most importantly no respect whatsoever for the Travelling Gooners. If you are thinking of selling Walcott why play him and cup tie him. I said it so many times Wenger must be
made accountable for this mess we are in. He is arrogant beyond belief, deluded and so far past his sell by date its untrue. If we don't get a good result tomorrow night and i am presuming that's why he rested so many
players i am wondering what his excuses are going to be. Well that's my rant over and has i have not posted for a while i wish you all a Happy New Year.

Hard to argue with that mate. Like I've said regarding possible targets we need to tread water and by some sort of luck scrape a CL place.

The frightening thing about our squad is that if you omit the following players:
Out of contract: Ozil, Sanchez and Wilshere
Short contracts (that I am aware of) : Ramsey, Ospina and Welbeck - There are quite a few other players whose contracts expire in 2019!
Players that are reportedly available to leave: Coquelin, Walcott and Elneny
Retiring: Mertesacker and possibly Cazorla
Youngsters - Except Maitland-Niles, the only one ready for regular PL selection

We have very few quality players on deals of 2 years+.
What a mess.

Happy New year HG. Hard to disagree with your comments. I am mixed at the moment, as like most Arsenal fans i would like to see us splash the cash on a big January signing, but realise that whatever slim transfer budget our billionaire tightwad owner will make available would a) almost certainly be wasted by Wenger by signing players we don't need, and B) should now be left for a new manager so they can build their own squad.

You just have to look at city, united and chelsea and the vast amounts spent only to be sold or loaned off once new managers come to the helm.

The team on paper is not bad compared to other teams at the top. The problem lies with wenger and bouldy who have no plan b and are clueless when we are under pressure. Their lack of motivation tactics and passion resonates to the team on the pitch. They sit there staring into the wilderness. Back in the day we had adams vieira etc to lead the team now we have no one to kick players up the backside if they aren't performing. This is where wenger has been found out. I have said before our best january business would be to get rid of wenger and his hangers on who have let this club rot. He could of left like a king but will leave with his legacy in tatters. Sad really. But sentiment cannot play a part in arsenal. We need a new direction which unfortunately wenger cannot provide. We need a manager that can motivate players EVERY game not when we have been embarrassed. Look at pep and klopp their teams turn up every game giving their all chasing the opposition down and being ruthless. Wenger is too soft with his players and gets one good game out of them and then they do nothing for 10 and he will not drop them. He is holding back the progress of players by playing them out of position. We have the stars but no leadership from the bench.
