Very good post Stoner.

Agree0 Disagree0

It is indeed Dags, well done Stoner mate.
For me my main connection and association with Arsenal these days is this page posters and Eds as it's about the only thing left of Arsenal that I enjoy now days.
I don't watch any live games preferring to watch motd highlights so as to not waste my life time and money on the current Arsenal set up.
April 2015 I took the decision to cancel my sports channels not just because of the cost but because I was turning down invitations and opportunities to do other stuff and for what? To watch a team that may or may not be bothered to turn up on that day, I can and always have been able to accept losing and even the odd rubbish passionless performance but once they become to frequent you have to ask yourself " if the players on the pitch don't care, the manager in the dug out won't change and the board are only interested in financial rather than football ambition, why am I bothering? '
Motd is enough for me because if the performance and result are to horrible atleast I'm forewarned and spared the utter dismay of watching without a chance to compose myself first.
It does seem that more and more gooners are taking their lead from the players Arsene Stan and co and losing their passion for and commitment to this current Arsenal we now have to live with and it's ever decreasing ambition with each season that goes by, top 1 became top 4 is now top 5 with a cup and you have to wonder how low it will actually be allowed to go.
I used to think missing out on the champions league would bring change but it seems quite the opposite with best players being allowed to rundown their contact and no real response in the summer window that shouts look out big boys, it does make you wonder how long this might actually continue for and just where the club will have to come back from when it does arrive.
It's an absolutely huge job for the next manager if he arrives in 2 years time and if he is still 4 or 5 or even more years away we will be 20 years without a title challenge with no one under the age of 30 being able to remember us as a major force, shocking.

Gunner62 - Bit depressing! We have won 3 FA Cups and 3 Community Shields over the last 4 seasons. Since the heady days of the Invincibles, the likes of Chelsea and Man City have arrived on the scene due to financial doping, making it far more difficult to win trophies.
We are both old enough to recall the truly depressing times back in the 70's when we even finished 17th! Some of the football we played was dire, even in the latter stages of George Graham's era.
I try to watch every match live or at least live on tv.
We must consider ourself fortunate to have witnessed so many great moments. It could be far worse supporting a team that hasn't won a thing for years!

All things are relative: FA Cup wins are marvelous and still be to be treasured rather than shrugged off - just ask any real Spurs fan if they'd like to win a trophy - any trophy, even the Whitbread Trophy - so it's not that Arsenal are an entirely spent force.
It's the ethos behind the relative malaise that really hurts.
Silent Stan;
the de-bagging of David Dein;
the arrogance of the Board; I mean, Sir Chips Keswick, anyone?
the sheer destructive omnipotence of Wenger, a man who it is so patently obvious to see is past his best;
The apparent utterly ineffective No2's;
The ridiculous shunning of Usmanov;
The patently obvious mis-use of available players;
The gradual degradation of playing standards;
The medical issues, where Arsenal just do seem to have more players out for longer. Why hasn't this been addressed?
The waste of so much promised talent (Wilshere, Ramsey, Walcott, Joel Campbell, Ozil, Chambers, Bellerin to name but 7 - there must be twenty more that could be thrown into this pot) .

The list of the things that are wrong with the club are like a chronic canker, and whilst we may not have as much to moan about as your average Sunderland fan, or even as your average Spurs fan (actually, no-one can say they haven't got a fantastic team that will probably only be thwarted by the billions of petrodollars at Manchester City) , we do have a right to believe that those charged with running the club we love have the best and right interests: that is to build a successful competitive team that attempts on every occasion it plays, to win whatever competition it is in.

Nothing less should be acceptable.

Can you most certainly is the man, fantastic post mate.

RG know your a man of great wealth and have a taste for life's luxuries, like your top of the range all singing all dancing car.
So with this in mind after you've paid out your 100k plus for your car if it doesn't come with all the extras promised and instead of a top speed of 156 mph it won't actually go above 120 mph do you
A complain you've been sold a duff motor
Or
B console yourself with the fact Raver hasn't overtaken you yet despite closing in on you at an alarming rate plus does the fact that he hasn't ever tasted the very finest champagne in his life quench your thirst despite not having so much as a look at the stuff yourself for 15 year's?
If you fish in a tiny local pound I guess its easy to console yourself with pictures of fish you once landed rather than involving yourself in the turbulent choppy waters where only the big boys like City Chelsea Utd demand of themselves they should be fishing in to able them to hook the giant catches of today and even Spurs are looking like they too might be ready to finally step out of the safety of the tiny North London waters and take a look what the big scary outside world might have to offer them.
Never mind RG as we all know the rest are all envious of our mighty 4oz community shield really, they just won't admit it :-)

Thanks guys and great replies, plenty of hitting the nail on the head with the exception of the usual suspect who consoles himself with FA Cups, Community Sheilds and living the life of Walter Mitty whilst the real world goes on around him. 🙄

BVH we are sadly in a world at Arsenal where everything less is beginning to appear acceptable.

15 Nov 2017 14:39:43
I've nothing to moan about as my club are keeping Arsenal out of the top 4 plus bossing the champions league, did you enjoy watching us take real Madrid and Dortmund apart lol.

G62 - You clearly got out the wrong side of bed this morning. I have always followed Arsenal through thick and thin, and always will. Supporting a football club is different to almost anything else in life and true supporters give support to their clubs no matter what the situation, even if they have never won the PL.
You belittle the Community Shield, but don't foget you have to win the PL or the FA Cup to even have a chance of winning it.
As for the Toot, for all the 'noise' coming from the building site down the road, they still haven't won anything under a manager who has never won a thing in 8 years of trying. Quite how long the faithful toots such as raver61 will tolerate failure to win a single trophy is beyond me. Even raver61 turns up on here, an Arsenal page to get the whiff of success, hoping it will rub off on his trophyless toot.
The toot have approaching 60 years of abject failure to catch up on and to think an old geezer like me wasnt even alive the last time they won the league!

15 Nov 2017 15:02:25
The top of my above post should have been addressed to Van not Can, apologies Van the man :-)

15 Nov 2017 15:21:23
Gunner you got one thing wrong about the raver never drinking the finest champagne in my life, my middle name is MOAT.

15 Nov 2017 15:29:23
I definitely love the whiff of success R. G. that's why I'm in your house all day feet up on that beautiful sofa entertaining that stunning wife of yours drinking your finest champagne, and when I want some more liquid refreshments I jump in your Porsche 911 to the off licence.

15 Nov 2017 16:21:27
Ah RG as long as we can't out boast Spurs historically all is well.

Little pounds live little fish, a place where the less ambitious fisherman can be proud of his tiny catxh in his tiny domain without having to entertain the real world and all that nasty reality.
As long as your happy there who am I to ask you to join the real world.

15 Nov 2017 17:13:44
I think the point is, are we getting out of this club, satisfactory league success and competition befitting of its size and stature. For me we are failing badly and are and have not progressed forward in league status for too long without accountability. Standards and ambitions are being eroded away. Fans are actually realising that this clib is wasting their time and their money and are deciding it may be better, giving other things more rewarding a try. I used to after not being able to physically attend games, spend on merchandise, that has stopped now, i just feel i'm wasting time and money. When this club show ambition, so will i.

16 Nov 2017 06:33:46
Oh dear raver61 - It's Moët, not moat! Then again the Champagne has been on ice since 1961. Incidentally, I am not a fan of Moët, preferring the upmarket Krug to celebrate trophies at my Belgravia penthouse, having driven down Park Lane celebrating in my shiny new Porsche 991 Turbo. The pain at the building site just goes on.

16 Nov 2017 12:11:48
the past is the past RG61, here's to the next 60 years. imagine if you became the new Leeds United. 😉.

16 Nov 2017 15:53:49
Oh dear North East Spur, the trouble is that the toot's history truly is ancient. I will lay down the same challenge that raver61 cowardly fails to answer; List the trophies won by the toot during your lifetime.
Incidentally, Arsenal are the current FA Cup and Community Shield holders.
The problem with the toot is that they appear to be going through another false dawn, similar to the Redknapp era. A manger and a team that haven't won a thing. No wonder you and raver61 stalk gooners.

16 Nov 2017 19:57:48
your obviously a lot older than me RG so that's an unfair advantage. you keep regurgitating the same old same old when people touch a nerve with you. how many trophies have madrid won. how many trophies have united won. in your life time? does that mean people don't have an opinion?

on a personal level though RG I will lay down the same challenge to you, how many trophies have YOU won at football in your life time. and at what level. I bet I beat you hands down. sofafan.

community shield. PMSL. really.
