If reports are correct Oxlade has turned down a massive £180,000 a week deal. This doesn't surprise me as I don't believe he feels that Arsenal under Wenger will challenge for the top honours. In addition it has emerged that he wants to play in a more central role. If we are able to achieve a fee of £35m +, despite him being in the last year of his deal, then we have done relatively well, as he a good player, but nothing special and could easily be replaced as a RWB for that figure. We already have Bellerin and there are English youngsters coming through, such as Maitland-Niles, Nelson (if he can cover the defensive duties) and even Chambers can play as RWB, the position he was playing when he first came to the club. We now have to see what happens with Ozil and Sanchez. Can't see anyone paying the £40m+ fee Arsenal require for Ozil, nor matching his reported huge wage offer. Sanchez is different and either Wenger is trying a bluff to drive the price up or is prepared to risk losing a large fee in a chase for CL football. Interesting last few days of the window.

You can't blame him R. G., the most he can look forward to is the Europa dopa draw today, he knows his club is falling further away from spurs, Chelsea, city, Utd etc.

Kos has been a fantastic player and served Arsenal football club with distinction but he will retire from football having never been involved in a premier league title challenge past March or having played in a champions league QF.
Kos has put Arsenal football club before personal ambition as did Sagna too, both stuck by Arsenal when they had better options both financially and in terms of footballing achievement and gave the best years of thier career to the club but it came at the price of personal ambition.
Maybe Ox doesn't want to look back and think what might have been but would rather give himself the best chance possible of being and achieving everything possible in football.
If you were him aged 24 what would you do? And who's steps would you be looking to follow in Kos of Fabregas? I don't believe money is the issue for either Ox or Sanchez I think it's purely ambition and they both want to be with ambitious clubs and I personally can't fault them for that.

Oh dear raver61 the stalker. Kyle Walker? Danny Rose wants proper wages and the chance of winning a trophy! As you well know raver61, the pain at the lane and Wembley just goes on 56 years and counting since the last time the toot won the league. It's interesting that we have won the league twice at the home of failure WHL.

Great business by spurs R. G. sell walker and rose for a combined 100 million and we have bought Sanchez and serge aurier for 66 million while we building that monster of a, stadium. That Europa dopa draw was tough on Arsenal today R. G. I can't see you picking up many points from bate and crevena zvezda lol.

Go on raver61 list the trophies won by the toot during your lifetime or admit there are none. Even this year we have collected two more trophies, whilst the toot flatter to decieve. A team and a manager that haven't won a thing. Great you have lost one full back to a team that can win things and may lose another. Now that's really quite something. The funny thing is that if you perform as well in the CL as last season you will end up in the EL, if that's is you avoid last place. The pain at the lane and Wembley just goes on. Nearly 60 years of abject failure. i'm so pleased that i chose to be born a gooner.

The same Europa dopa you lot brag about winning in the 70's 😂😂😂.

Putting spurs in the same sentence as Chelsea, Utd and City LOL! Classic raver 😂.

IF the Ox had ambition he would have displayed it and laid it all out on the pitch over the last several years. Instead, he gave more mediocre performances than good ones.

It's astonishing that so many of you are screaming out for our mediocre players to be shown the door but as soon as one decides that is where he is headed, he's all of a sudden filled with ambition and you want the club to pay him whatever it takes to keep him.

Fast forward a few years and those same people will be on here wondering why Ox is on £180K/ week and we aren't able to shift him to another club.

Rinse and repeat ad nauseam.

Of course I can mention spurs in the same bracket as city and Chelsea as we ARE a champions league club. Also wodbod we lifted another European trophy in the 80s as well as the 70s. R. G. as for players leaving a sinking ship you should look closer to home as ox, ozil and Sanchez are walking out of your club beep.

Raver61, you can't be mentioned in the same breath as the big boys simply because you managed to qualify for the CL. Remember last season you went out in the group stages. You won absolutely nothing. Indeed, you haven't won the league sine 1961. You have never won the PL. Your manager has won nothing as a manager and your players have won nothing with the toot. The wages you pay your players is clearly a problem. Walker has left for a big club, Rose is unhappy, as is Alderweirald and others. This century you have won one league cup and I doubt you were even born when it was won. As you know the pain at the lane and Wembley just goes on. 1961, yes 1961!
