Jenkinson and Bramall off to Birmingham on loan. Jenkinson has 3 season left on his deal and clearly we were unable to sell him, so we had to loan him out.

The issue is that we gave Jenkinson such a long deal at wages that were too high, making it impossible to sell him. Wenger calls this his socialist wage policy, which means that we give way too wages to very ordinary players, which causes a problem in the long run as we can't offload them. Hence we are stuck with: Gibbs, Debuchy, Campbell, Lucas, etc.

Jenkinson going out on loan is not a problem, we loan him out to a championship club, he has a good year, and then we sell him. Because of his injury and lack of football its hard to find a buyer atm so this is the best step forward.

The problem with keeping players such as Jenkinson on long term deals is that we end up having to loan them out when he has no real chance of making it at the club. On wages of £40,000 a week I doubt very much that we will able to sell him even if he has a good season. We seem incapable of working out which players won't make it and getting rid of them and hence clogging up the system, which has led to Wenger stating that he won't be signing any more players as he has 33. The problem is when you omit Cazorla as he has a long term injury, young players that are simply not ready or not good enough, players that Wenger wants out and the 3 contract rebels, the amount of players in the squad drops to around 18 players, 21 with the rebels. We desperately need a CB and a DM. My choices would be Van Dijk and N'zonzi or similar, They would bring so much to the team. Alas, as usual Wenger refuses to push the boat out and sign players of this ilk that we need,

What can we do but like Stoner says wait and see what happens by the 1st, personally I still think he might pull a couple of signings out of the hat simply because logic says he should but as we all know with Arsene it doesn't always work that way.

Gotta admit with the fees going around ATM, nzonzi would be a steal i'm pretty sure he has a £40m release clause and is exactly what we need. We need a cb but I have absolutely no idea who we could sign.
