It's being reported ( most probably all rubbish) that Mesut want out and is pushing for a move to Barcelona, if it was true I'd be disappointed as I like Mesut a lot both as person he seems to be and the excellent player he is but if we are which looks highly likely going to stick with 3 at the back would losing Mesut be that big a deal for us?
I don't really see how he fits into that system well at all.
Apart from Bergkamp no Arsenal signing has ever got me so excited as Mesut Ozil joining us did I absolutely could not believe we'd got him and although there have been some fantastic moments from him and the occasional totally outstanding performances the move hast really gone as well as everyone had hoped for that dizzy Monday evening on deadline day when it finally cake up Mesut Ozil to Arsenal done deal.
As said IF there is any truth in this story it is probably for the best for all involved, sadly.

he seemed uninterested on Friday, thought he was poor like many games last season, I don't think we will miss him that much imo as he doesn't work hard enough for the team, I liked to see Iwobi get more pitch time love he's enthusiasm.

id start iwobi over ozil right now.

13 Aug 2017 12:19:31
I agree derby, I think he's eager to play for Arsenal just what is needed right now.

13 Aug 2017 12:41:26
I don't understand the criticism of Özil. He made the opening passes for the two first goals on Friday and created two other enormous chances. I think we should pay him what he is worth. Judging from his social media activity, I believe he really enjoys being in arsenal.

Its funny how some of our fan see Ozil, I think he's under appreciated. Any team would love to have him, he just not made to work like Sanchez, all this he's lazy and doesn't do much is none sense imo. He need the right players next to him to shine as he always did when Santi was in the middle with him. It will be teally sad seeing hom go which I doubt will happen, especially with wenger in charge as it seems he like his boss quiet a bit.

13 Aug 2017 12:48:25
Also I think Iwobi is a little naive for his age, Don't get me wrong I like him.

13 Aug 2017 13:38:30
Iwobi to me is another Gibbs Walcott type Arsenal player, he simply isn't up to title chasing at the moment at least. Players like Rooney Ali Sterling were all starring on a regular basis at his age. We can slate the 3 player I've mentioned for this that or the other but all 3 have done it at least once over a season and Iwobi is still 2 or 3 games a season potential type player.
To me he just looks like the next Ramsey or Theo and not the answer to Arsenals competing problems.

13 Aug 2017 14:27:02
Start Iwobi over Ozil, am I really reading that 🙄 .

13 Aug 2017 14:38:37
Don't think ozil would be that big of a loss we've lost more important players in the past and managed.

13 Aug 2017 17:14:19
If Ozil left we would see how important he is. Our ball retention and possession would suffer greatly. People don't appreciate his movement and how he is always available to receive and make a pass. He is a player that needs a solid defense midfield unit in place and frankly we have never had this while he has been here. Players like Pires, Bergkamp etc. flourished as they had protection and weren't needed to put in a defensive shift. Lacazette should provide a perfect outlet for his creativity also.
If Ox ends up at Chelsea this window we missed an opportunity not trying to get Matic as part of a deal. He would have fitted in perfect.

13 Aug 2017 18:10:29
You are stoner! If ozil was to go then it's Ramsey all day long that's where he's best.

13 Aug 2017 18:12:31
Imired mate, and how exactly did we manage? They all let and won the premier league with other teams and we were left fighting for top 4 trophy.

13 Aug 2017 19:06:50
Moe we let fabregas and van Persie go and still finished top 4 and they were bigger more important players than ozil at the time we finished outside the top with ozil and he's supposed to be our main man got nothing against ozil but he doesn't deliver consistently.

13 Aug 2017 19:36:49
I don't think you can blame Ozil for us not making top four. I'm saying its the end of the world if he goes but he's footballing brain will missed in the team. Again he need a proper midfield next to him so he do what he does best.

13 Aug 2017 19:44:58
We let fab and RVP go onto to premier league title and we still finished top 4 without then imired?
Says everything realy doesn't it.
It x little wonder those who can are looking to leave and those who can't are happy to stay.

13 Aug 2017 21:27:38
Ozil is no fabregas.

14 Aug 2017 16:56:25
Moe Gunner did you let out a few tears at this part in your comment as your words were all over the place lol
"It will be teally sad seeing hom go which I doubt will happen, especially with wenger in charge as it seems he like his boss quiet a bit. "
just messing mate.

Out of Ozil, Sanchez and the Ox, if we had to lose one, it would be Ozil for me. If were playing 3 across the front i would prefer the Ox to play in the right forward position, sitting in front of Bellerin. Ozil is such a specialist player, and needs to be played central in more a free role IMO, which as G62 said at the start of the post, doesn't necessarily suit our 3-4-3 formation, and leaves Bellerin exposed as Ozil drifts into the middle and therefore is not protecting him as the right sided forward.
