Just a quick once again LOL
If WILSHIRE is not good enough to keep at
BOURNEMOUTH why would we want him at Arsenal? .
Secondly if Wilshire was at another club would Arsenal be wanting to sign him on? .
Of course NOT.
That says it all in my opinion. I would let him go for free. Matter of fact I would pay someone to take him and save the 80 grand a week.

Agree4 Disagree13

Don't you mean Ramsey? 😁.

Would we pay 34 million for Xhaka again tomorrow?
What about 42 for Mesut?
Would we sign Theo Ramsey if they currently played for an opponent?
What about Mustafi would we pay 30 million for him again?
Where does it stop mate?
Jack's not the only one who hasn't lived up to what we hoped and hind sight if a luxury because it's in the main a pretty useless asset,
Few of us were against Jack staying 5 years back or signing Mesut or Theo or the most of the other at the time they joined us.
Lots of signings and lots of players haven't worked out as we'd all have liked not just Jack.

G62, I don't see how Mustafi hasn't worked out. I quite like him in the team. Also, I think people will start seeing the better side of Xhaka this season. I believe the lad has quality in him.

Fair play Sharpie but do you think either have been worth the money we paid so far?
Regardless of whether you do or not most were happy at the time of signing them and pleased to see the club investing in players and some who think both have a disappointment so far might change their mind by next May.
My point is having the foresight to accurately predict how things will go is a valuable commodity that people will pay a fortune to get hold of but the ability to be wise after the event isn't in such high demand for some reason :-)
Jack signing a long term deal 5 years back had everyone excited and no one that I can remember was recommending we sold him off back then despite City and others being extremely keen to take him off our hands at the time.

G62, I know, from reading your posts here, that you're not a great believer in statistics. I on the other hand depend on statistics quite heavily for work. The science behind stats, when used professionally is quite revealing. Obviously that doesn't mean that you'll always arrive at the correct answer but it does mean that you'll be rather close.

When you use stats like, player X scored 20 goals last season to try and conclude that he'll score 20 this season, it simply won't work. Statistics come into their own, when used properly, to analyse large quantities of data. I am guessing almost all clubs, in fact all professional sports teams around the globe, use stats to identify players. Does it work every time? Of course not, but it's one of many tools used to reduce making incorrect buying decisions.

Unlike many, I won't make an assessment on Xhaka just yet because I sincerely think he hasn't yet had the chance to prove himself. Some players take a little longer to gel. Mustafi on the other hand looked good to me from the get go and I reckon will be great come the new season.

As for Jack, I really hate to say it, but he's had his chance and maybe it is time for him to move on. Things could have been so different if he wasn't so injury prone. Under all that glass lies an exceptionally talented player and that's what we bought.

If there's any typos, sorry. I don't have the time to proofread just now.

Whoo sharpie and who does your proofreading, your PA. Lol. I just got a new phone and the predict text is a nightmare. I am at war with it. I swear it changes after I press send.

Hi Sharpie no I'm not a huge fan of stats in telling anything like the full story in football mate although I recognize in some businesses they are more useful in predicting spending trends ect.
Olly on paper is a prolific goalscorer but in reality Arsenal fans have been wanting an upgrade on Giroud for years simply because he misses so many quality chances in so many games.
Xhaka wouldn't be the first to win people over after a bad start but last season is all I can go on and he wasn't included in the list of the premier league worst buys of the season for no reason mate, as Dick Emery used to say " he was awaful, but a lot of people like him"

The yards yardstick that says how good a player is is often what fans of other teams think and I don't know any who rate xhaka or mustaffi. Now sanchez they all want him.
