I think Arsene and the board would genuinely love to sign sign him as a show of intent to the fans but they are fishing in very competitive waters and our rod and line are unlikely to out perform the might of Reals fleet of high tech solar equipped state of the art fishing vessels and even if some reason he didn't take Reals bait I'm sure Utd City Barcelona Chelsea will get in well ahead of us.
I know people want it and I know the club is desperate to show the fans they are serious but imo it's a such a long shot we'd be better off looking for less busy waters to fish in.
I know Arsene thinks we are only one or two players away but he also thought that when he brought in Ozil then Sanchez then Cech to no real league position improvement.
I'd be busy trying to clear the decks this summer and bringing in bread and butter reliable replacements rather than putting preparing the icing for a cake where the main ingredients just don't work well together.
He'd be better off using his 2 year bullet proof contract to plan for the season after next rather than try to look for a quick fix by tinkering with what just hasn't worked out so many times before.

Depends wether he wants to play or not. He might actually think that his career will benifit from it.
