THe title race used to be between two teams united and Arsenal! Now with the influx of money the quality and teams competing is much higher. The stadium move meant we had to sell our best players year in year out making a profit in nearly every window . song toure fabregas adebayor to name a few were unearthed gems we made great money on. I don't think it's fair to blame Wenger or not competing when we moved to the Emirates the only years he has spent money and invested in the squad are the last two. But with 6 other teams having equally as expensive squads and mid table teams spending upwards of 25million with the influx of TV money the premier league is harder to win than ever. Wenger guided us through a tough period in moving to the new stadium and we will reap the rewards in the future. Football fans are just impatient and if you think we haven't played good football for '10 years' I'm not sure what you watch.

Leicester city have been champions Liverpool have put in 2 serious challengers that lasted well into May, Spurs are the only team to cause Leicester any concerns last season and Chelsea this season, and while all this has been going on Arsenal haven't got anywhere close to being premier league champions.
Chelsea Utd City Leicester have all won it both Spurs and Liverpool have been involved in the title race into May twice, so sorry Dolally mate but your arguement doesn't stack up at all.

And what did they win for their challenge? Nothing Spurs haven't won anything in years Chelsea languished in tenth last year Liverpool have had endless years in the Europa league man united have been shocking since fergie an dress it up either way. Wenger has done a great job at Arsenal on and off the pitch. And one day past the anger you will see that. Treating a man that live breathes and sleeps Arsenal in this way is shocking it's like having a club legend and in his last couple of years booing him in the pitch because he's lost a yard of pace. Act with dignity. HE Set the standard so high just remember that. As guardiola has shown this year a new high regarded manager doesn't always reap the benefits you crave.

{Ed001's Note - don't club legends usually get moved on when their time is done, rather than hanging round to be booed? Or does that only apply to players who have had their time?}

Remind me again when was the last time we were title "challengers" in the league. When was the last time we were sweating in march ( not counting my holiday in thailand ) and now long have we got to deny someone the chance to do a job suitable for a big club, 25, 30 or 40 years. he's over stayed his time and he's not producing it any more in the league. How many supporters of the top six would swap managers with us?

G62, in all fairness, you can talk about Liverpool, Spurs and Leicester till you're blue in the face. Bottom line is, the only thing that will be remembered is that Leicester won the title and that Arsenal have been the most consistent team in the last decade.

I'd rather finish in the top 4 than win the title and be in a relegation battle the next season ~ ala Leicester.

Sure, Liverpool came second and challenged in 2013/ 2014, but finished 6th and 8th in the following two seasons.

Spurs challenged last season and still finished behind us.

There are several factors that make what Arsenal have done in the last decade very impressive. Chelsea and Man City finding their spending power, United having debt in excess of half a billion quid are just a few that spring to mind.

People will always point out that we just make up the numbers in the CL. Fact is, it brings in revenue and revenue is the lifeblood of any enterprise.

Sorry mate but your argument about Dolally's argument not stacking up doesn't stack up either. At least not for me.

If your a Arsene FC can I see your point entirely Dolally if not I'm struggling to understand where your coming from.
I don't see many shops on the high Street selling black and white telly's and I can't remember the last time the rag n bone man came down our street with his horse and cart or the milkman knocked for his money mate.
Times change and those who change with them seem to fare a lot better than those who refuse to accept a changing world and stay in thier own little pretend world instead.

Hi Sharpie mate, your argument about my argument about Dolallys argument just doesn't stack up to me :-)
Football is a sport mate and sport is about competing to the best of your ability.
When top sportsman and women lose their edge they now out with grace because for top sports people and organisations it's all about trying to be the best of the best at what they do, and Usain Bolt won't be happy to finish 4th just keep the millions rolling in and watch others take the glory he once had, he will know when his time is up and accept it with dignity.
The business world cares little about pleasing it's customers if they can get away with it because for them it's all about profit and milking their customers for all they can get while keeping cost to a minimum.
Arsenal football club may well be profitable and ambitious off the field but on the field there is very little sign of real ambition to be the best of the best and in my book that is wrong.
Chelsea and City may well be owned by successful billionaires who value money highly but it doesn't come at the cost of on field ambition the two go hand in hand at both those clubs and just about all other clubs I can think of with just the one exemption of course.

Gunner that really made me laugh, you have a way with words.

G62, I don't mind having a discourse when examples being touted actually adhere to the conversation at hand. Comparing Usain Bolt to a football team is like trying to compare ET to our friend raver. One's an iconic TV character and the other is an . any way, you get the point.

There are a lot more moving parts in a football team than there are in a lone athlete.

I'm also not sure about your perception of the business world caring little for their customers. Perhaps there are a few that operate this way but the vast majority don't. Profits are an integral part of any business and so are people. Balancing the two isn't always easy and I fear this is the case with Arsenal FC right now.

Where some fans see failure (on the pitch) , there are those that see a club trying to balance the requirements of running a viable business while still trying to keep the customer (fans) on side. Is it working at Arsenal? I guess that depends on how you measure success for our club. Me, I see a healthy business and a team that is consistently in the top 4 and in the CL. Do I think we can do better? Of course I do? Do I want us to do better at the expense of the club? Most definitely not.

We can sit about discussing how things would be different if Kroenke wasn't at the helm or if Arsene stepped down. This isn't the reality of our club though. We can choose to accept this and enjoy the successes (and rightfully cry over our loses) on a game by game basis, OR, we can do what we're doing and whinge at every win, whinge at every loss, whinge at our manager, whinge at the board, whinge at the owner, whinge at the fact that Usmanov is not the owner. I know what I'd rather be doing .
