So we're trying out the 3 at the back and the Ox seems to be enjoying his role on the right hand side. Assuming Wenger stays and this is the formation we continue with, where do you see that leaving Bellerin? Does he now not fit in our team, is he surely now Barcelona bound?

Agree0 Disagree0

Looks as if Bellerin has been short of full fitness lately. This will give him a chance to take a backseat and rebuild some fitness before competing for that position, assuming we stick with the back three and two wing-backs. But longer term, there has got to be a case for Bellerin playing where Ox did yesterday and Ox moving into CM - especially given that Ramsey didn't make the greatest case to nail down a spot there yesterday.

Agree but needs to sort out his offensive decision making, crossing and shooting. I actually prefer the Ox there than him but see the Ox centrally long term.

Not sure what that means for Bellerin but happy to see if he can evolve into that role.

The wing back roles are ideal for both Belerin and Gibbs game imo, I've been wanting us to play this formation for years to cut out our soft centre and shakey defence.
Ox did a fine job there yesterday but he isn't a full back and long term it will be much easier sorting out Belerins final ball than the Ox defensive weaknesses.

Where the heck is Gibbs, seems like a perfect fit for the formation. Mustafa in the middle and Kos on the left and Holding on the right.

I think 3-5-2 makes us more sold defensivly than having a flat back 4 as you always then have 3 stay back CB's rather than 2. It takes good communication between the 3 CB'S to shift left right back and forward as a unit but it can work really well if done well. Our fullbacks are so offensivley minded anyway that in flat back 4 the 2 CB's are often over exposed down the flanks on the counter so having the 3 back there allows more cover when they shift left or right. Yes the wing back's as with the rest of the team still have to defend when required but it means you are less exposed on the fast direct counter with 3 CB's when your are attacking with both the wing backs to give us that vital width.

Didn't Fat Sam say after Palace beat us that we were easy to play against because our full backs bombed forward continually leaving our two CB's exposed.

Maybe Arsene has finally taken some advice and it's come from Fat Sam. 😂😂.

To be fair this year the ox looks and acts like an adult. He's starting to look promising.

It's a funny old game Stoner mate :-)
Imagine if Arsene had been sacked after the Palace game and Sam had replaced him and used the same tactics to beat Middleborough and City as Arsene just has, would Sam be called a tactical genius or a dinosaur who'd taken Arsenal back 20 years? Funny old game indeed :-)
