I think with all the negativity going on around the club due to our inability to progress and our manager unable to see the wood for the trees. It would be nice ( because this is a result business ) for the club to come out and tell us what is the minimum it expects to achieve from now until the end of the season.

I would like to know what goals they have now for this club. So people can be accountable. I think that is what most fans want and it would also give us some idea what this clubs ambitions are. The fans the manager and the players will then know what to expect from the final two months of the season, seeing as our league and champs league ambitions have been extinguished.

I don't think there is any plan or expectation from the club Steve mate, I think it's just a case of " do your best best Arsene old chap "
We all know there is no accountability for the manager from the club or for the players from the manager, everyones disappointed after a bad result but soon get over it once they've had a chat and collectively agree it as all the officials fault each and everytime, well except that Sanchez chappy who insists on upsetting people with his refusal to go along with the cosy lifestyle and keeps upsetting people :-)

Although possibly paper talk, I believe the board have asked Wenger for his decision within the next 2 weeks (after International break) .

Do u guys really want owners that do not demand anything from their manager because that's what we have. We need owners that will demand success from our manager n if he fails then have the balls to sack him. Wenger has delivered year in year out. Never has he been outspoken against his owners or bought the club disarray. Remeber y dein left? Because our current owners where not willing to invest in the club to allow arsenal to remain competitive. We need owners that demand more.

12 Mar 2017 22:17:27
That says it all Dags mate, Arsene will tell us and the board what he's doing and if the club is to move forward or go through the motions again next season. That can't be right.
What other club in the world operates with a totally unaccountable manager?
If this is realy allowed to happen then we have officially become Arsene Wenger football club.

Gunner how amateurish or naive is that. What happens when wenger comes out and says he is going to stay and we finish 5th and don't win fa cup. I don't get what would be achieved by giving wenger cart blache on his decision to stay or go while he waits for a knock on his door from whoever in the meantime.

Unless we aren't getting the full story and he will be accountable for what happens or happened this season. WhatI find hard to take is last summer there was supposed to be a clear out of the dead wood and build the squad to win the league. 110 mil was spent and we have gone backwards with the signings.

12 Mar 2017 23:01:03
Plus maybe wenger should come out and tell everyone what his intentions are and the goals he is setting himself for the end of the season so he can be judged on that.

My two cents - goal is top 4 and champions league.

To compete Year in year out for title costs too much money - Wenger is meeting expectations on a reasonable budget. Therefore no issues as he meets the boards desires.

If they were poles apart - he would be sacked and there would be far more money in the bank.

Truth is - we don't have the resources to fund an on going title charge year in year out so we make do and hope for a few lucky signings to may be compete once a decade plus a cup run.

Sy with all due respect, I don't agree about money, we have spent big, why you keep persisting in just using money as an excuse and you do. Money has nothing to do with our annual blip in November, money has nothing to do with poor game management when we are under pressure, money has nothing to do with embarrassing exits from the champions league, money has nothing to do with falling behind the pace yearly in january and feb and coming strong at the end.

What did money have to do with beating chelski easily then losing easily against the same players. What did money have yo do with getting hammered by Southampton and watford who have less money than us. What has money got to do with leaving your best player out of an important game away. What did money have to do with going 3 goals behind to a newly promoted team and scraping a draw. Money is not the problem.

Buying players like xhaka is about money, buying players like mustaffi is about moneyand buying perez is about money, about wasting it. But the problem with this club is not about money but what we do woth it and the management of football matches.

Steve r, I think that is obvious, a top four place to secure Champions League football and the huge income derived from participating in the competition. Clearly winning the FA Cup would be a bonus.

As a manager who'd you want to win you titles there is no defence of Wenger, I've come to admit he no longer has it in him to make that big jump again.

I agree with Steve re signings, albeit some are in their first seasons but Mustafi, Gabriel, Xhaka and Perez simply because he doesn't use him above others seem to currently be a waste of close to £100 million.

Van Dijk and Kante, the two of them even if we'd paid over the odds wouldn't have cost £100 million but would have had a far better impact than the other 4.

We really are about to lose Sanchez just as the club sanctioned the sale of RVP you wouldn't put it passed them to sell to City.

We have an owner entrenched in mediocrity who in honesty is probably scared to lose Wenger, likes what he achieves and with absolutely no will to turn this club into winners why risk change, why risk what happened to United.

It's painful to watch us bumbling along with a manager who must see he no longer has what it takes.

How, SY, you can argue we don't have the money to challenge for a title really is clutching at straws.

In reality the last two league titles were there for the taking and when the going got tough we capitulated once again. I'm sick of Wenger talking about mental strength, the one thing he fails to instil in his team the most.

We have become a weak walk over, 5 points in the top 6 mini league, Liverpool have 22. That in itself is shocking. There is zero defence of 10-2.

Spot on steve.

13 Mar 2017 12:14:07
Fine posts steve.

13 Mar 2017 12:56:16
Oh I forgot liverpool, who made a profit in transfers and ins this year and are top of the top six league, what has that got to do with money?

13 Mar 2017 16:07:59
Agree stoner.

13 Mar 2017 16:13:13
Derby, where have you been hiding? Nice to hear from you.

13 Mar 2017 19:06:18
Took some time out steve but have been catching up now and again and you are on fire and have been holding it down. You are no longer the minority mate.
