This is really worrying when you think about it.
A lot of Arsenal supporters and quite a few on here too, seem to be a bit shaky about tonight's game against Sutton United!
Sutton United!
I wonder if Barcelona, PSG, Bayern Munich
etc. would be losing sleep over a draw like that.
Sorry but this is not a joke post but it does reflect on how low our confidence has gone.
It's unbelievable really.

Ed Sorry meant to ask you right or wrong that post mate.
What do you think.

{Ed001's Note - you can't compare Barca etc, their leagues are completely different and only a very small number of teams truly have the capacity to get at them. Once you drop outside the top flight in those countries, you are immediately into leagues that are very much equivalent to the English Conference (or whatever it is called these days) in terms of finances. Their cup competitions do not have the tradition or culture of the FA Cup, so the teams also do not have the same fan backing, which really does make a difference. Playing in a white hot atmosphere in a small ground against a team inspired by that atmosphere is completely different from facing a smaller team in a stadium where most of the fans have come along to watch their opponent.

The reason why English football is so popular worldwide is because anyone can beat anyone else. It is because every team actually has belief they have a chance that the shock results can happen. That is not because Arsenal are low, but because it is the FA Cup and anything can, and often does, happen.}

Well let's hope you got the last bit wrong for tonight mate.
We wouldn't live that down EVER!
Mind you on the quirky side it would make me laugh for years to come 😂.

{Ed001's Note - at least you have the pitch as a ready made excuse.....}

20 Feb 2017 08:05:56
Yeah your right LOL.
Some of our players are hopping and limping at the thought of it as we speak .
😂.

{Ed001's Note - some have even been pulled out because of it. Madness!}

Ed001,
That is a spot on summary of what the FA Cup is all about.

Respect.

Ps, am I worried?
Yes, for all the aforementioned reasons.

20 Feb 2017 11:57:28
The sole worry is that the match is played on a synthetic surface that Sutton are used to. On grass they wouldn't stand a chance.

If anyone uses that as an excuse they want sacking. If anything the pitch should suit the technical player one touch pass and move. It should in fact suit arsenals size. Far better than some of the pitches in lower leagues.

20 Feb 2017 13:28:53
Sanogo mate.
Absolutely! I can't be listening to any excuses of the pitch didn't suit us.
It shouldn't matter whether we played them in a school playground with 9 men. This could be the most embarrassing result of all time if we lose.

A lot of top eastern European teams have this type of pitch and European games are played on it. No one has complained about them infact usually the opposite, they aren't astro turf, they are far superior. If anything arsenal players should cope better because they are technically better. No excuses.
