Martin Keown said on Bt Sport that Wenger will sign a 2yr extension. Despite what he has done in the past i don't think he deserves it but i think he is arrogant enough
to sign it despite the obvious split it will cause among fans and players also. The next home game against Hull is massive because if we were to slip up which could happen looking at Hulls present form the crowd crowd could really show there feelings more than what they did say a few seasons back first game of the season against Villa 1-3 lost. I know some fans say if he goes who is out there to replace him but you just can't accepting below par performances like yesterday if we are to truly challenge for the title. Last year was a terrific chance of winning it with both Mancs and Chelsea having managerial problems, we had a settled squad not the greatest squad but good enough considering what was going on but he still came up short. Another thing i have to get of my chest is the dig he had about Kante going to Chelsea because of the higher wages when he himself is in the probably top 5 paid managers in the world and failing miserably when Kante looks to be joining people like Ashley Cole winning the prem with different clubs. The thing that really grates with me is he's loyalty to players that clearly are not good enough, i not going to name them because we all know who they are. I am nearly 61 years old and have supported them since i was 6,thats 55 years with great times, good times and bad times and i never so wanted for Arsenal to change their manager has i do now, i rather fail trying to do something different than failing doing the same things with the same excuses because remember Gooners its Arsenal F. C. not Arsene F. C.
Take care everyone.

I think keown is just stirring, we all know there has been a contract on the table for months so that's not new and wenger as I've said before, maybe stubborn but he's not stupid. Unless a miracle happens and he wins the CL he will go.

If he wins the CL Steve he will go! That's been his dream (although you wouldn't have thought it )

I'm eager to see what happens in the summer! I want change but not change for the sake of change! Nobody knows what's going on behind the scenes! There might be a situation where choices 1,2,3,4 and 5 might either be not available or want to replace Wenger.

There could be situations where ozil and Sanchez have said that they want to see certain things cleared up or changed before they sign! Apart from wages etc they might want clarification on who's going to be at the helm they might want to know that arsenal are actually going to sign 2-3 top players.

They (especially Sanchez) might want players like Ramsey to be offloaded and a general spruce up around the club. It's obviously a balancing act there are more than one variables at play. Steve you have mooted various candidates for the job to replace Wenger. Candidates that I personally agree on.

But what if they are not available? Would you have anyone? Would you like me be happy if a situation like this plays out and we offload 5-6 players the dead wood the inconsistent players the fair weather players and replaced with a couple of what is perceived as world class and others that are good already with potential to be better!

For example in the summer I suggested selling Walcott and bringing in Sadio mane (obviously an example without knowing the realistic possibility of it happening) and Ramsey going and draxler coming in! Now I know horse and bolted but you get my drift. So in short steve would you accept another 2 years of Wenger if conditions like that were met?

One things for sure if something isn't there to appease the faithful and Wenger does sign a new deal the club is going to get even more toxic. I'd say at the moment even after 13 years of disappointment Wenger would leave a hero this summer! But another 2 years of this crap and he will go out on a serious low.

I honestly think we are now being held back by the manager and his ways. I don't 100% trust the board at all, in fact I don't trust them 100%. We need a fresh approach at this club and that mrans a fresh manager with modern ways and modern coaching techniques.

I've said this before the older managers, capello, anchelloti, van gaal, del bosquet and all the other 60+ nineties and early noughties successful manager are now being put out to grass and the new breed are coming through. Look at the top managers in spain, italy, france, germany and here and the top clubs are being managed by younger managers. We shouldn't be any different if we want to move forward.

Good post Sanogo.

We need one of those new breed steve! We can't just take anyone. I for one am annoyed with the board it seems that they have not been proactive and have been completely reactive! All waiting on wengers descision. Maybe now they are planning something but it's 3 years too late.

The last contract Wenger signed should have been the start of the transition and that's when they should have taken action. In that time we have seen decent managers move from club to club. Another problem appears to be kronke. It has been downhill ever since David dein left the club.

Agree, I don't think the board would know a good manager if one slapped them on the chops. I don't think they want to appoint one, they want wenger to stop But that would be disasterous for this club, the under current that is there would be like a bomb going off. I just hope they pick a winner and at least give us all hope and don't think about the safe option for their business model.
