Would be great for Sanchez, Ozil and Wenger to sign this January

Sounds like Ozil is happy and likes Wenger

The club knows that I am here most of all because of Arsène Wenger. He is the one who signed me and he is the one whose trust I have. The club also knows that I want to be clear what the manager is going to [in the future]. "

Fingers crossed the situation with manager and players gets sorted as uncertainty is not good for our club

it's a tricky one, sy. i'm sure many would agree that to move forward we need a managerial "upgrade". likewise, many would disagree but at the end of the day wenger has to leave sooner or later.

right now we have (arguably some of) the best players in the league in their positions in sanchez, ozil, koscielny, bellerin, cech and santi when fit, yet year after year we stumble and fall - in my opinion this is a mental or tactical state that wenger has bestowed upon the squad, not a fault of our players "winning mentality". it's easy to say when chelsea are flying high but conte would have been perfect for us. A manager who isn't there to befriend players, a manager who's ruthless and isn't afraid to make changes when necessary.

sure players might come for wenger, but they'll only stay if you're picking up meaningful silverware. two fa cups is by no means the champions league final or a league title. i pains me to say this but we really don't deserve alexis or ozil, they're wasting the peak of their career battling out for fourth place in the pl and bowing out of the champions league five games to early when they could be winning the bbva or the serie a or a meaningful trophy or two. until wenger goes i don't think any player worth their salt should even consider joining arsenal.

don't get me wrong, I'm not anti wenger, I'm just fearful of what might happen if he leaves. i wouldn't be disappointed if he doesn't renew his contract, however.

Sy I think the media are medling and interpreting their own slant. Last moth according to them sanchez was leaving if wenger stayed. This month ozil is leaving if wenger goes. Neither is true. Ozil actually said he wanted to know who would be manager before he signed, not exactly what is being now interpreted.

NE, I am not so pro-Wenger that I think it will be Doomsday if he leaves. I would love to see him stay as long as it is the best for the club. I still have faith and it is regularly tested. I accept he will be rightly criticised but don't agree that everything is his fault and that he has been handicapped financially since we left Highbury until late.
What we must do is remember our history as a club and be respectful and conclude professionally pretty damn soon as uncertainty is not good for players and trying to sign players. We were doing ok before Wenger and he has set the bar very high, far higher than it's ever been while the league has gotten tougher with 5 teams capable of winning the league. Go back a few years and it was normally between 2 ( us and Utd for a while) .
I still think the club needs to lol st itself and figure out what it wants - to compete in EPL and EUFA Champ League requires serious continuous flow of money. I don't think we have that and so we are always the bridesmaid as we never want to pay for the wedding. I think this is just S big a question as who the manager is.
If Wenger has Pep's budget or a squad like Barcelona - would he win trophies? Why not - he out foxed Fergie who beat the best of them. If I play you at space invaders and have 4 extra lifes - I should beat you but you may get lucky. Money does matter.
If the board wanted to win the league - they would have sacked Wenger. They would also need to step up to the big table. I think they are happy staying in Europe and "competing. "
So - what great manager would want to come in with our fans boooing our greatest manager, squad that needs investments but limited funds plus how have Utd fairer as an example. Tough call.
Who does that mean we go for! Pep would never have come but not sure I wanted him, nor Mourinho.
Hiddink or Conte were who I wanted but Chelsea would slways look more appealing with their spending capacity slightly offset with the crazed Russian running the club.

I just want to see our players put a shift in, play nice football and truly compete to the best they can. I also want to see us still competing for the league come May. I don't think we have a god given right to win it but I want us to fight for it. Otherwise - what's the point?

We aren't too far away on quality but we always seem to be that way - if that's board strategy then let's change it or put up with being the bridesmaid. If it's Wenger, then let's change.

Cech isn't in the top 3 goalies for me. Koscielny isn't the best centre back but he is in the top 3.

Steve - agreed. He clearly likes Wenger and the club. He wants to know who will manage him over his last big contract. Uncertainty is not good - not a good time to be negotiating your top players contracts,
This has been my issue for a while including last year as I am sure it must have impacted our plans even though we had a very good summer but not an outstanding summer in terms of attracting the best names. I know we tend to make names!

The contract negotiations of Wenger, Ozil and Sanchez are complicated. Wenger always has the highest club salary. Therefore, the deals of Sanchez and Ozil have to be sorted in order to ascertain the top figure. However, the players may want to know if Wenger will remain manager before committing to the club. Not that it will happen, but if Wenger committed himself this month and made a top signing, it may tip the balance and convince Ozil and Sanchez to extend their contracts. Also we need to deal with the contracts of players such as Ox, Santi, Mertesacker, etc.
