I'm not a big fan of Wayne Rooney but I just can't see what the did wrong when on England duty on a team day off, he stayed in the team hotel where a wedding reception was being held and joined in the fun.
I've seen no complaints from the wedding party about him joining them so where is the problem?

{Ed041's Note - mo think its been totally blown out of proportion to g62

Agree0 Disagree0

Its absolutely ridiculous Ed041 mate, what ever people's personal views about Wayne Rooney as a man or a footballer it doesn't change the fact the man's done absolutely nothing wrong here.

{Ed041's Note - I feel for the lad in this instance mate

and if Jack Wilshere had done the same thing 62?

Jack Wilshere Jack and the bean stalk or jack n Jill the answer would still be the same Red mate, he stayed in the team hotel on a day off and joined in a celebration which as far as I know the happy couple had no problem with, if he'd got drunk in his room alone would that have been ok?
The man had a few drinks with some strangers who most probably considered it the icing on the icing of their wedding cake to have the England captain at their big day.

62 it's not what Rooney did it's what you would have said had it been Wilshere.

Rightly or wrongly Rooney has been touted and regarded as England's Messi/ Ronaldo/ etc for the last decade and quite frankly has never lived up to the hype. If you compare their careers from the time they were both rising stars at Utd, Rooneys has gone downhill and Ronaldo has gone from strength to strength, culminating in leading Portugal to a Euro win. People look and see how immensely fit Ronaldo is and how well he's looked after himself and then look and see Rooney turn up obese at the start of every season and drinking until 5am and rightly imo criticise him for it.
If you asked pretty much every professional Swimmer/ Diver/ Gymnast etc whether they'd stay out drinking until 5am in the middle of their season, they'd laugh right in your face, especially those that compete for their countries. Quite frankly from my point of view, if you're paid £300,000/ week you make sure you don't eat a single calorie more than recommended and refrain from drinking to excess.
