If reports are correct Wenger is after midfield player Leandro Paredes. Our midfield seems full of quality players and this makes little sense. Then again Wenger does like to collect midfield players. For the defensive roles we have Coquelin, Xhaka and Elneny. We also have midfield options in Ramsey, Cazorla, Ozil, Iwobi, Walcott, Ox and Reinne-Adelaide. That makes 10 options for 5 midfield roles and that doesn't take into account Sanchez or Perez playing in a wide attacking midfield role. All I can think is that we will allow Cazotla to leave at the end of the season and possibly Ox will be sold. The weakness in the squad lies at left back, possibly a top notch striker and I am still not convinced that Jenkinson has the quality to fill in for Bellerin adequately, which we can judge on Saturday when he should play.

Mate where linked with literally 100s of players each season and we're not noted for our high turnover of players either in or out.
Apparently Sanchez is going to city and Mesut utd next summer ( I'm sure the Ozil story will gather pace as we approach the weekend too :-)
The really exciting thing we have to look forward to is the two conflicting stories about Arsene's future :-) because if we do well the press will say he's off next summer to worry some people while if our season falls away again they will write about how he's extending his stay for another 3 - 5 years to wind up others.

Gunner62 - Point take, although it wouldn't surprise me one bit if Wenger did sign another midfield player!

I think wenger would like all 10 outfield players to be midfielders.

I think in Arsene's ideal team we wouldn't need a keeper or any defenders because we would have the ball for 99% of the time while the opposition would use thier 1% purely as a means of restarting the game.
I'm not sure Arsene has always had a lot of time for the quality and value of the defensive side of football but I do think the development of Le Coq and the unquestionably value of having a real DM gas brought to the team plus working with Petr Cech on a daily basis has brought about something most people doubted Arsene capable of, a change of opinion on how the game should be played.
He still plays the super sexy passing we have all enjoyed so much but does seem a lot more conscious of our soft middle that has brought about so much frustration after so many humiliating defeats where the team has folded like a cheap pop up gazebo at the first sign of a strong breeze.

It's that every managers dream.

its likely if Sanchez, ozil and bellerin will get huge deals to stay at arsenal, the likes of Ox and Cazorla would be sold to sign future players on lower pay.

not to mention the fact that jack wilshere may not be making his way back to arsenal, not seen the lad play at bournemouth but have not heard anyone raving about his performances.

we will have quite a few big salary players come off the books next summer with per mertasacker, and gibbs and debuchy also likely to exit next summer.

So a LB, CB and a midfield player are very likely next summer incomings.

Lakerville - A CB? We have Mustafi, Koscielny, Gabriel, Holding, Chambers and Mertesacker. Yes, Mertesacker may depart, but that still leaves us with 4 CB's.

I'm sure it is Sanogo mate but it's also a lot of peoples dream to be able to fly unaided too, but few people spend a decade flapping until they finally realeas they'd be more likely to get somewhere if they got off the shed roof and took the bus instead:-)

Never been on a bus. Someone once told me there full of peasants and Cholera.
