Arsenal finishes during my lifetime to date from 2016 back to 1973

Before then the finishes were not great either - we won in 71 but finished 12th the season before. The 71 was the first win since 53.
After I was born, I had to wait till 89.
In short - we have won the league before Wenger joined the club. 4 times since 1950.
But we have had some pretty low finishes also.
Wenger has won it 3 times and brought consistency and flair as well as long term stability for our great club.
Our history shows that we don't have a God given right to win the EPL. Look at Liverpool, no one does. Money helps - look at Blackburn for that one season or CFC or City pre and post the glucose money. Money is not everything - Leicester proved that but probably a one off.
We got to want the best for OUR club but we can't be spoilt brats. We don't have the right to success. If we can learn from Leicester to get harmony, fitness, directness, injury management as well as accepting we need to spend money sensibly then we should be fine. Wenger has competed and won at the highest level. Beat Fergie to the title. Let's show him some faith and respect. He's not god so he can be wrong and challenged but let's respect the guy as he has a tough audience to please - US. If you don't think we are tough - read this site.
We have great history and values - hopefully us fans realise they should be demonstrated by the fans also as we identify ourselves with this great club.
We still are a great club and I want success just as much as you Steve or Malaga. I don't believe there's 300m to spend and there isn't. I am frustrated with us needing a striker and a Defender. I hope Wenger does what's needed and we notch up another top place finish, at worst I want to still be fighting for it in May as that's what I've missed most. COYG! Still got faith in you AW although you do test it at times

Emirates pay us 30 million
Puma pay us 30 million
New TV money 100 million
The stadium revenue pays for the stadium loans and players wages
There is money to spend
We need a manager that gives the CEO a list of players and tells them to and get them
We have a manager that is involved too much of the daily running of the club, while neglecting what he is actually paid for.

SY4 great post but unfortunately the ones with our opinion are a dying breed. Look on this site every positive comment gets a lot of disagrees and every negative comment gets a lot of agrees. That's the way It has turned out. I'm now waiting for the moaning that we haven't met hiquains 79m release clause. No matter what Arsene does a lot of people have decided how they feel. Even if we win the league people wouldn't be happy.

Ozil that wasn't aimed at everyone. Malaga I can name several things if you really wish but if you can't find one thing to feel positive about Arsenal you're in the wrong game here lol. Btw people don't get me mistaken. We do need a striker. I'm pro Wenger but yes we need one and a CB. That's priority for me and I think people are kidding themselves if they think arsene don't see that. But he won't overspend. I appreciate that with him it's just how he is.

Chambers may well leave on loan Banbury. I'd be surprised if he's not at least keeping an eye out for one. Lime tree agree perhaps dying breed was the wrong term there lol. But there's certainly more and more people losing hope. When I go to games I hear people constantly criticise Arsene. And some of its stupid. I remember the last game I went to people around me was livid that he was bringing on welbeck, that game was Leicester city at home. Not one person near me held there hands up and said Yep I was wrong.

Everyone on here is an Arsenal fan some from the 70's others 80's and so on
We are all entitled to our opinion but more and more season by season people are getting fed up.
A few weeks ago a post said " we know it's going to be another season of disappointment but we should still back Wenger". That is wrong and a very odd way to look at things . If you know something is wrong stand up and say so .

Some of you think wenger is irreplaceable, the messiah, great, mr arsenal and whatever. I think the guy is holding us back and doesn't hack it anymore. What gives you any right to say you are right and I am wrong. None that's what. I happen to think differently to you but I don't knock you for it, I just disagree.

Steve, I never said that. I note that we won the league before and we will after Wenger. But that he has managed the most successful period of the clubs history. I thought my post was balanced. I believe our business model needs to change and you agree. I think Wenger deserves a chance under thAt model.

Lime tree i never call people at all for their opinions individually, i have been told i'm a all sorts of things, traitor, not a real fan, not an arsenal fan and all sorts of things by, small minded people who can't accept someone might think differently than you. I put my views over i stand my ground but whatever people may or may not think off me, i have always respected that people have different views than mine, but i don't do character assassination. I do not attack individuals at all, that is wrong, i may challenge their views but never attack and call people, you are way off the mark.
