I think we need to stop referring to Wengers achievements whilst the stadium was being paid off, that was 6-7 years ago so now there are no excuses. He's had a budget of £100-200million probably even more every season for the last 4 years and he has spent bits and pieces of it, if he doesn't finish this transfer window addressing our obvious weaknesses then I'm sorry but he's failed imo.
I'm a great fan of wenger but his time is up, we call him a fantastic manager well now is the time too show us why he's considered fantastic, if he address our obvious problems with world class players then fine but if we don't it's 5th place or lower.
They're too many fantastic managers in the league this season, seasons before you had 2 where as now you have Pep, moureen, klopp, poch, conte, ranieri etc.
I hope he does address all our weaknesses and if he went out with a bang then he will forever be remembered for his achievements and loyalty whereas if he fails I think people will be less thankful and more relieved.

Personally I think we should stop debating Arsene as this is his final season so what's left to say? Unless we put in an unexpected title challenge that keeps everyone excited well into May (difficult to see happening) Arsene will not be Arsenal manager next season.
Let's chill out and enjoy this season because if we somehow suddenly become competitive under Arsene what's the problem with him staying and if we don't we will have a new manager with new ideas next season.
Surely it's a win win even if we have to wait one more season.

Essex, I hear your frustration and I am sure we could have spent a little more last summer but I think you will find that we don't have 100 to 200m budget. Take a look at the accounts and take a look at the financial summaries. You will be surprised and the debt is still on our balance sheet for the stadium. Part of the problem was we needed to sell to survive. Wenger himself has said they were his biggest success seasons as they were tough.

Sy4 then some of the directors should have kept their stupid big mouths shut then, saying we can buy anyone except messi and ronaldo and we can compete with the big teams. This club is as big as itcwantscto be, its all down to ambition and the way its run.

10 Jul 2016 14:27:16
Steve do you honestly believe we can buy anyone but them two players. Regardless of what they said it's a ridiculous statement and just untrue. Could we afford pogba? Neymar? Suarez? Bale? Really baffles me why our board come out and said that.

D i didn't say it it was arsenal football club, are you calling them rediculous. This is the people who run our club.

10 Jul 2016 14:50:46
For how long will we keep talking about next season while the current season hasn't even kicked off. Tomorrow never comes. The class players we have now are not getting any younger and am sure their patience is wearing thin. This is one thing we always have to remember. We have a good core needing a few finishing touches. If we lose the class players end of season, then we will start rebuilding all over again.

Was you not on about the Arsenal directors? Or have I misread this? I'm saying it's ridiculous them saying that I'm
not calling the people who run our club ridiculous just that one statement there's no need to start twisting what I said lol.

10 Jul 2016 15:42:54
No one is twisting anything, someone from the club, a club representative made a statement, you say its rediculous, i say it was put out there regardless. A message is sent, why make it, there must be something behind it. People listen to things like that.

10 Jul 2016 15:45:58
The club said that 3 seasons ago and all those players were well within our reach had we really wanted them and Pogba is financially doable now but even of we came up with the fee and wages its highly unlikely he'd chose us to come to and that's our big problem, no top players with good chioces want to come to Arsenal now days as CL participation and premier league top 4 ambition just doesn't float their boat.

Yes there is that argument too 62.
