I saw an article earlier saying we were telling clubs Giroud 'isn't for sale' because a few clubs have started making offers.

Now, if that's true or not, I have absolutely no idea, but it did get me thinking.

Whenever I post/ reply here, with regards to Giroud, my general opinion is that Giroud isn't good enough to be our starting striker, BUT, he's good enough to be at Arsenal.
I personally think he's a good link up forward, holds up well and is a good team player, but he's not clinical or quick enough to be at the top top level.

So, when I saw this article, it made me think, would i sell Giroud?

Simply put, no.
Even if we somehow bagged a Lewandowski/ Aubamayeng/ Higauin level forward, I'd still keep Giroud at the club (if he'd stay as second choice)

I was wondering what the general consencus here was, would people keep Giroud at Arsenal?

Let's remove money from the equation, because we'd all say yes if enough money was bid, Barcelona would sell Messi for enough money (however much that'd be)
Just simply, do you think Giroud should stay at Arsenal, if we signed a 'better' forward?

Thanks in advance people!

I'd be sad to see him leave personally because his link up play can be beautiful to watch at times. We all marvelled at the Wilshere goal of the season against Norwich and the similar goal scored by Rosicky not long after and you will notice Giroud is always pivotal in these link up's with his technique and deft touches - it's just a shame he doesn't convert more of his chances with his feet (he's actually pretty clinical in the air) .

He's one of the best right now when it comes to holding the ball up and laying off to another runner, but he's one dimensional and not the most consistent goal scorer.

Yes. Defo keep D.

If the sale of giroud helped fund the purchase of aubamayang, levendoski or like then yes. i'm guessing 30 mil we have for striker plus money for giroud and free up his wages, yes sell him.

Keep for sure, as part of a 2 man strike force or from the bench Olly is an asset and the only time he stops being an asset is consistently finishing chances we make on his own up top.
Sign a poacher and keep Olly too.

If you sell him your left with nothing and you need to buy two that won't happen . Why sell a striker who scores 20+ in all comps? Let's get a 35+ striker to join him.

Giroud would be one of the first players out the door if I was the new coach. We Arsenal fans. have aproblem, even when we agree that someone is. not good enough we never want them to leave. that's why we end up with a squad of not good enoughs who can't get the job done.

Aubamayang and no giroud is the way for me.

Rue in an ideal world keep giroud and buy another top clasx striker, i'm not sure a coach would bin him straight away but he wouldn't be first choicd i agree. But if it's a case of selling giroud to help upgrade i would and rely on back up coming from within, eventually welbeck will be back and be another option. Sanchez could deputise and if he leaves and rumours are true so could draxler.

I'd definitely keep giroud. Not good enough to win us the league as the main striker whatever anyone thinks of his attributes he has shown this with patchy form throughout his arsenal career, yet he still has the ability to be dangerous and get goals.

Would be the best second option in the prem, when walcott and giroud were alternating for a period as starter he scored goals of the bench and that would serve us well. He also seems to tire when he gets a continued run in the team perhaps this is cause for his patchy form. Having a another option ahead of him, or at least someone better than Walcott would help his form by getting more rest.

I remember when we had wiltord and kanu to come of the bench, neither good enough to lead the line for a season but fantastic options of the bench and for rotation. We struggle to win games gainst "smaller" opposition when we rotate the side. Giroud would be invalubale in picking up points as a second option.
