Morata lighting up the euros. Shame he is going to end up at chelsea. The lad is a top talent. Technically gifted for such a tall player. Would have suited the premier league because he is physically strong. Why do we extensively scout a player then just pull out during the last minute?

Striker are on short supply hence the fact that they are expensive. Unless wenger can find another gem somewhere, vardy is not going to cut it. He is just a pacy forward who is effective in counterattacks. I have my doubts whether he will do the business against teams that sit deep.

Wenger told Giroud he would be first choice next season didn't he?

Have always said I wanted Morata more than any other (available) striker, bar Aubameyang.

Big game striker, who has done fairly well despite playing 2nd fiddle to Mandzukic and Dybala.

Has age, height and athleticism on his side, just needs to be at a club who would make him first choice.

Arsenal fit the bill perfectly.

PG that was my thoughts too. Morata is a fine striker and I like the way plays. He is a hard working striker and I strongly believe he will fit in our game perfectly. Just watch how we are going to miss on him and then next year wenger will come out and say I wanted to sign him. I rate Vardy but I doubt he a long term solution.

We have virtually zero chance of signing Morata or even Vardy. In Morata's case, he is a bright young talent, who will cost the best part of £50m, plus reported wage demands in excess of £100,000 pw. Assuming he has a good euros, then he will be big demand and if the big boys come knocking, as expected, he will sign elsewhere. I believe Vardy has been very well advised, to wait until after the Euros to make a decision on the offer we made, His sale price is set by his break clause, so he can command higher wages, if he has a good euros. He has the safety net of the £80,000 pw deal signed in January with Leicester, plus Arsenal's offer in excess of £100,000 per week. If other clubs come in for him, you can see wages of between £120-150,000 pw. Assuming we fail to sign either of these players, I am not sure where we turn to? Would Benteke be a possibility, if Liverpool will sell to us. He is young, powerful and quick. Under Wenger's wing, he could blossom into a potent striker and will few other options on the horizon, he may be a decent shout.

Virtually zero chance to sign vardy? Where did you go come to that conclusion? Was it when ed002 and 001 both said they think it'll go through after the euros?

Morata scored two goals for a dominant Spain team and now he is the next big thing. I'm open to the idea of him but not as first choice and not for the prices banded about! And before anyone tells me it's not my money I just couldn't cope with paying top striker money for a return that is currently at Lord bendtners level . He scored two decent goals let's judge him on a tournament not get giddy over one game. You guys will be putting the scout out of work lol.

In the two games so far I think Morata reminds me more of Olly Giroud than Olly Giroud does both the strengthas and weaknesses, I watched him closely in the first game and again last and so far I've seen nothing from him that I haven't seen from Olly on a regular basis.
This is not a criticism but do we need two Gitouds?

Morata fit a team that passes the ball and plays clever assists. I think his movements and positioning is way better than Giroud. And not judging him in yesterday game but I think he is a better option than loads of strikers. The club money it ain't mine nor any of you here and club in a very good financial state so my opinion is spend and spend big and I think he is worth it.

18 Jun 2016 11:53:34
Hope you're right Mo mate but I'm only going on what I've seen so far and there's nothing I've seen from him that Olly doesn't already offer, even his first goal yesterday was extremely similar to Ollys opener for France as have been his weaknesses been, hopefully as the tournament progresses I will change my mind but as things stand both Vardy and Sturridge look more likely to be the man to finish off the chances we make in abundance that could be the difference between title chasers and top 4 chasers.

You guys even watched morata play? He is not olly. He is quite fast and can dribble. olly is slow and can't dribble. The problem with strikers nowadays is that they are on short suppy. Icardi too wouldn't be bad but will wenger bid for a young but expensive striker? Aubameyang is out of our league but i think we can at least afford morata or icardi or embolo.
