Vardy a realistic target, 20 plus goals a season, high energy and hungry as hell. I suggest theo out if vardy comes and giroud down the pecking order. With ibra at man u we could do with one of the best strikers in the league and exiting too.

Agree3 Disagree1

man united rejected vardy. If he was 20 yeah i would pay top dollar for him but fella is 29.gunning for his last big contract.

Signing Vardy is a clear signall this will be Wengers last season he wants to win at any cost (wenger being wenger gone for the cheapest option that will guarantee reults) . let's all get behind Wenger Get behind the club and make it a season to remember no matter who we get. Come on people all on board.

have to agree with punani here. he'll be 30 in 6 months. we (nger) should be looking for a long term option even if this is his last season before packing his bags. a striker who will get us 20 goals not just next season but for half a dozen seasons, though admittedly this won't be easy to find.

He's 29, but football wise he's younger having played a lot less football than a typical international footballer. With him being a late bloomer, whoever is trying to sign him believe that he'll be able to play a year or 2 longer than most.

Shades of Ian Wright?

04 Jun 2016 08:36:44
Just remind how old RVP was when we sold him to United and what happened that year. :-)

Ian Wright was 28 when he joined us and went on to become the clubs record goal scorer till a certain Mr Henry joined us.

Most people here (myself included) would jump at Zlatan who's 35.

I'm not comparing the football ability of the two, by the way, just making a point about age.

Vardy and Alexis together would be great for a high press, with Özil able to hit a mobile target instead of the walking tree and Xhaka, who loves spraying passes forward, meaning there's always going to be something to run on to.

To be honest, I'm not a massive fan of Vardy due to some of his less PR friendly incidents, but as a footballer, he's shown he'll get goals.

IF we sign him, it's a gamble either way.
He's done well at Leicester, but will he suit our system?
I can't see us changing our style to accommodate one player.
As much as there's a hint of Ian Wright, there's also a hint of Francis Jeffers.
So, are we (potentially) getting a Wrighty or write off?

Stoner, remember RVP's second season at United?

04 Jun 2016 11:11:48
NE van persie second season was when Fergie left mate and the utd meltdown starred, besides I'd take 1 good season with Vardy that ended in a title walk over for Arsenal as van persie enjoyed at utd.
