I'm not going to change the World I know.
But! When we read players now want £200,000 a week ( Ozil ) as an example, as it might not be enough to keep them in their job! I'm thinking that's ok they put the minimum wage up to £7.20p an hour so why not. It's a disgrace and we all know it .
Don't tell me otherwise.

Oh and before anyone mentions about the handsome revenue paid by Sky Tv etc. remember who is paying Sky in the first place! Yes the likes of you and I and I never see it dropping in price neither. I love football and especially Arsenal but I am sick and tired of reading about these primadonna footballers that can't get out of bed for less than what I would call a lottery win every month and that applies to anyone else in the entertainment industry as far as I am concerned. Millions here! millions there! what is going on? .
The real heroes are the working people that get up every day to a job they probably can't stand to support their
families. Does that sound familiar? Hundreds of thousands a week! for kicking a ball it's taking the 'P' in my opinion.

I agree with everything you said Lansera. Unfortunately it is the way of the world now and it will not change in the foreseeable future as football is one of the biggest ways for the fans of clubs to escape from the drudgery of their jobs. Will there be a tipping point for sky when people can no longer pay their extortion, sorry, subscription fees? Who knows but it's not likely at the moment as there is a demand for the product.

Good rant Lanesra and I totally agree.

But, as 14 said, it's the way of the world unfortunately.

I don't really see why football is any different to any other forms of entertainment where people also earn a fortune. I don't see people moaning about how much film stars are paid for just a few months work, or TV stars for that matter. However i do have an issue with how people behave and convey their education (or lack of it) and that's where IMO football comes up a bit short. Case in point with Wilshire on the front pages of today's papers for the wrong reason.

Yes its obscene what some "sports people" are paid its sad but that's the way it is. And yes we pay it all in one form or another.

Sky already have lost a load of football to bt. And bt costs me a fiver compared to sky's £20.

I get BT Sport free because I'm a virgin (oi oi) but pay £30 per month for SS.

No doubt that will rise (oi oi again) .

You can never justify the salaries of top players, but there are very few players who have the ability of Ozil, whilst minimum wage workers are plentiful. The problem with increasing the minimum wage is that employers either reduce workers hours or employ less people.
In order for salaries to rise, you need to reduce the supply of workers to the market. Mass immigration has caused salaries to fall. Quite frankly I don't know how people on low wages in areas such as London, survive.

So paying someone £300 a week for 40 hours work that keeps our streets clean, shops full and economy moving costs jobs while paying someone £200,000 a week because he can kick a bag of wind better than most is acceptable?
World's gone nuts for sure.

What an absolute pile of pants, the very best in pretty much every sport earn a fortune because fans want to see them and are more than happy to pay.

Any fan would give their right arm to win the premier league playing for their club, win the Masters, Wimbledon, the Super Bowl, be the F1 world champion, knock out the heavy weight champion of the world or win the World Series.

Not one of those fans would do it for £7.20 an hour. Get in the real world.
